Default Do Nothing Congress?

The Dems complain about the House not doing anything. Then we hear the House has passed budgets regularly, passed action to reduce the spending and debt 29 times just this session, and other bills that are strong and necessary. All of those bills get tossed on the floor of committee rooms when they reach the Senate.

Then we see this:

Quote:
Congress Not Standing Ground on 2nd Amendment
Are gun voters being taken for granted? Republicans control the House and self-styled pro-gun Democrats abound in the Senate. So why has neither chamber addressed any of the major gun rights issues awaiting resolution?

Numerous bills to restore and preserve Second Amendment rights to Americans have been filed, yet not one has been slated for a vote this year. John Velleco of Gun Owners of America (GOA) tells Townhall, “Every election year, the members of Congress come to pro-gun voters asking to be re-elected, yet we don’t have any pro-gun votes scheduled to come to the House and Senate floor.”
Click on the link and read the whole thing. Looks like both sides are twiddling about on this.

if you have a 2 party system and your entire world is still sliding down hill you can be sure both parties are pushing as in a equal world if one side would push back it would stop dead with the numbers you have , but it dont , QED someones not doing what they say they are doing ..

I hear a whisper across the lands
The fate of a nation in your hands
Patriots soon will make a stand
One by land two by sea
Take my hand to be free
Midnight run on the loose
Traitors hang in the noose
Rally the troops for all to hear
Midnight run without no fear
Greed and fraud rule the house
Clean it out leave no mouse

It makes sense, Cyclone, but we need to shout it from the rooftops from now to November. After the election, until the new government takes over in January is going to be the real fight, however. We stand to lose more in those 2+ months than all that has gone before. I'm beginning to think that the "October surprise" won't be in October, but after the election. BO has already shown that he plans to rule rather than govern, and his minions in the bureaucracy will do his bidding, even if it is illegal and unConstitutional.

This is why we need to do away with the out dated party politics in the first place. Much more would happen if we riddled politics of they party system. More people would vote and more people would be involved.

There once was an old man of Dover,
Whose knowledge grew lesser and lesser,
It at last grew so small
He knew nothing at all,
And became a college professor.

Today we call him Senator

It's our history to write a bunch of feel good bills during election year. Both sides know all of the bills the opposing parties write, will be defeated. The reason it's always been like this, is so the party writing it can tell us that they tried, but the other side said no.

And that companion fact: when a majority of the people are hungry and cold they will take by force what they need. And the little screaming fact that sounds through all history: repression works only to strengthen and knit the repressed."

"How can you frighten a man whose hunger is not only in his own cramped stomach but in the wretched bellies of his children? You can't scare him--he has known a fear beyond every other."

Sometimes we need a refresher.

I have some favorite authors. But Steinbeck is at the front.

When I was a kid, it was required reading. I doubt todays kids ever heard of the man.

Not to detract from Pop's original post, but I think it's worth reading at the least.

Your choice of passages are the ones that stood out to me. Weird.

'Do nothing congress' implies that we are helpless. We're NOT!

WE have every right and the ability to effect change.

VOTE!
