Default Australian unemployment rate twice official figure according to Roy Morgan research

Socialist lies as usual but a few are found out ...

Australia's real unemployment rate is twice the official figure and the Reserve Bank must urgently cut interest rates, says the nation's biggest research firm.
A Roy Morgan Research snapshot of more than 4500 people in April put the national unemployment rate at 9.3 per cent.
This compares to Australian Bureau of Statistics estimates that only 4.9 per cent of Australians are unemployed.
"The RBA uses the government's statistics and they say there is no unemployment, so we must keep the interest rates high," Roy Morgan executive chairman Gary Morgan said on Tuesday.
"It is nonsense... the interest rate should have been 3.5 per cent for the last three years."
Roy Morgan Research CEO Michele Levine said Canberra bureaucrats were blinkered by low local unemployment - around half the national average - and high consumer confidence.
"It's like Disneyland," she said.
"It is like we're being governed from another world.
"The two-speed economy, I think, is Canberra versus the rest."
The company's latest State of the Nation report, based on interviews with 52,000 people over the year to March 2012, found those living outside the national capitals were more likely to be unemployed and rank low on the socioeconomic spectrum.
Ms Levine said regional areas could be transformed into employment hubs if major government departments were moved out of the ACT.
The report - that focuses on the divide between capital cities and regional Australia - found nearly a third of city-slickers held a university degree, compared to 17.8 per cent of their country cousins.
More city residents had internet connections, pay TV and mobile phones than those outside the capitals.
Although "naughty" habits had fallen nationwide over the past year, the report found country Australians smoked and drank more than their health-conscious city counterparts.

scary stuff right there.

Socialist mentality is the same over here. We have a net loss of millions of jobs since Obomba.

Quote:
that only 4.9 per cent of Australians are unemployed.
The BS here is the rate supposedly 8.2%. I don't think 8.2% comes up to 9 million people. The 'heads' say the actual rate is closer to 15%. Who knows.

The interesting thing in the report was, 4.7 million were college grads ( just above 1/2 ).

The rate there, which is also BS, sounds a lot better that the BS here. Apparently, Australia is better at producing jobs, or lying, than we are.

and dont forget, the reason unemployment rates are down here are because most have no benefits left. therefore inaccurately lowering the #. Ill find a way to get off the grid of our government. leave me to be self reliant off of the land. Tired of bowing to a higher power when we're supposed to be free. pay taxes, do this, do that. oh and do it with our crappy money, which we also control the value of. textbook monopoly. One day I'll truly be free to do as I please with my life. until then, I'll keep trying to pick the locks of these government shackles, and not get envolved with this scandalous way of life they created, in order to have our supposed freedoms now a days. remember, without citizens, whats a government? so why again arent the ''people'' fixing this? GOVERNMENTS dont allow for it. hows one to really be free. voting or not. it doesnt matter. they'll make what ever they think is best for everyone to happen. voted for or against.

Went back and reread it. I think this quote speaks volumes:

Quote:
The report - that focuses on the divide between capital cities and regional Australia - found nearly a third of city-slickers held a university degree, compared to 17.8 per cent of their country cousins.

More city residents had internet connections, pay TV and mobile phones than those outside the capitals.

Never being to your country, and knowing nothing about it except what I've learned from documentaries, and you, I think we have something in common when it comes to the remarks about 'country Australians".

Here, IMO, it's the country folks ( referred to by some as hillbillies ) that are the backbone of this country. I can't speak for present times, but I do remember when one would know where they stood with folks, because they'd tell you so.

Neighbors didn't rob neighbors. Ya didn't know if the locks on your doors worked or not, because you'd never locked them. You were just as subject to get an azz whooping from a neighbor for doing something wrong, as you were from your parents. Then they'd call your parents, and you'd get it when you got home.

Neighbor feed neighbor, no matter how little they had, and do without in the process. Nobody, including the kids, would complain about being short of food after they feed you.

I could go on and on, but you get my drift.

Nobody can fault a country Aussie, or a hillbilly American, when it's all said and done.

if the unemployment rate were accurately portrayed here it would be close to 19%. but that's just what I've heard I've got no factoids to back it up.
