We sure did Bobski. We survived for another day.Once I figured out how to throw them we got the hang of it pretty quick. You can definetly go through alot of shells pretty quick. We are gonna get the thing that shoots them this weekend and go back at it.I feel a competition growing with my boy.

probably a full choke. most of those meat guns were full. means you can shoot over 40 yds no problem. which means 'trap' is the game for that gun.
give these guys a call. it might save you the cost of a thrower and save your arm. nothing beats just pushing a button! tell em bob from vanzant mo sent you! http://www.claytargetsonline.com/club.php/595 Last edited by bobski; 05-24-2012 at 10:07 PM.. |

How close to Sikeston mo are ya.I was on my way to texas about fifteen yrs ago and my alternator went out right at dusk and I was just past the sikeston exit so I turned around and made it to autozone with 5 minutes to spare. As soon as I pulled into the lot my battery died.I went in and bought a new alternator preparing to put it on in the dark and the manager looked at the other clerk and said go on and he pulled out a dufflebag full of tools and had it on in 10 minutes.I tried to give him a 100bucks and he said no I cant take your money but if you want to write my big boss a letter and tell him I helped ya.I said ill write him 2 letters.I had my wife and young daughter in the car so it meant the world to me Ill never forget it.

i own the range. its my backyard.
now you know why i offered up my range for a midwest tff bbq/shoot for free. its all set up. all anyone has to do is just show up. i'll be there all of july. some people build pools in their back yard. the previous owner built himself a range for his wife to shoot. no joke. ingalls home. yep. probably one of those washington slept here things. ![]() Last edited by bobski; 05-26-2012 at 08:18 AM.. |

since youre new at clay shooting, let me share a quick blurb with you about clay pigeons....
What Is a Clay Pigeon Farm? Shooting skeet and trap targets is meant to simulate bird hunting. The use of clay targets was created to replace the more traditional target that hunters know very well, live birds. The sport we offer is a replacement for a game where the targets use to be actual live pigeons ‘trapped’ under a hat with a string attached. When someone called ‘pull,’ the hat was tipped by pulling the string and the bird was presented for shooting. This was a popular shotgun sport as early as 1793. The Passenger Pigeon was mainly used, which was extremely abundant at the time. Fake birds were introduced around the time of the American Civil War as the Passenger Pigeon was nearing extinction and sufficient numbers were not reliably available. Everything from glass to ceramic tiles were used. Reliable clay targets were introduced in the 1880's and as a result, the sport of clay target shooting has evolved into what it is today, an exciting shooting sport involving fast moving targets that simulate a birds flight and speed. For this reason, clay pigeons are commonly called ‘birds.’ This is how the Vanzant Clay Pigeon Farm got its name. We are a farm that produces clay pigeons upon your request. When you call for a bird, we let one out of the ‘trap’ house for you to shoot. |

Something else you may want to try. I built a pepper popper/pigeon flipper, and it is a ton of fun. The pepper popper is a sillouette type target that falls over backward when shot and then it flips a clay pigeon into the air for you to shoot. I shoot it with my Snake Slayer (410 hand gun) and my shot guns using bird shot.
