Are there any groups seriously calling for secession from the United States?

Nobody anyone really takes seriously that I know of, but I THINK I remember the Governor of Texas once saying it was still legal in that state.
I don't know of anyone in my state advocating that - bad idea, IMHO. |

1. The States make up the fed not the other way around. 2. The fed has no power without the states. 3. States are their own little countries. 4. The fed has oversteped their 17 enumerated powers by leaps and bounds. The Fed does not have the authority to do most of what they do. The fed operates outside of the constitution, and we still put up with it. 5. The fed overcharges taxes and uses that money to buy or should i say lock the states for federal funding. 6. The fed is ignoring many of the enumerated powers they have like to protect our borders. 7. The fed has printed more money than you can wrap your head around. 8. Bozo has given billions to Brizel to drill for oil so they can sell it to the Chineese. Printing money and wastefull spending is taxation without representation Secession from the union? I am all for it. The union is too large and the people in the north have too much control on the people of the south and same goes with the east and the west. Think about it. What is right for new yourk is not right for Louisiana or Tx or Az for that matter. CM

We still have the best country in the world. Europe tried to do what we have with the euro. It didn't work for them. We are on a down hill slide and if it isn't corrected at some point we may end up with states wanting out.
Many problems would come about if this were to happen. We would no longer be a world power. I hope I never live to see this.

Yes, It probably won't happen but the threat of it is the only thing that can get us back to being a Republic as designed. Till the career bureaucrats and politicians realize that each state is it's own sovereign entity and the monolith that the bloated Federal government has become is unwieldy, unworkable unlawful and unconstitutional nothing good will happen.

It sure appears Obama is trying to push some states into some sort of overt action. Probably not secession but straight out, in your face defiance . I think he would love to declare Marshal law and run a little pretest to see how far he could push it. This guy don't quit, he just doubles down on his mistakes. Let us pray(fight!) for his loss in November.

Trouble is, he is all politician and doesn't have any root convictions. He'll go whichever way the political wind blows. His party wants Scotland to have 80% renewable energy by 2020; his party considers atomic power to be the worst thing on earth, he is willing to push whatever social and socialist ideas and values come along with a large enough public backing. He is also all for making Scotland part of the EU. Any independance Scotland would get would be immediately swallowed up by the bureaucracy of the EU. At least in our current condition, we have the insulation of Westminster. Inadequate as it is, it still helps a little. |
