Part of the trip form Gainsville, to the range is a 25 mile strech of Hwy 181, this is a fun road to drive. Lots of big hills, and curves. It is not like the TX hill country, but just as fun, nor is it a larger version of the "Tail of the Dragon", but I've made 4 passes across it so far, and I like it! Was real surprised at how the Accent handled the hills, and curves! This little car will scat if you put your foot in it, and it holds the roads in the curves like you wouldn't believe!

I attended the shoot today as a spectator - met some new friends - Ryan42 and his son, GV?? and son Bacon Buddy, Tireman and wife, Bobski and wife, and Leroy (just happens to live here in Jacksonville, AR - also talked with Caver and his wife, both of whom I met last year in Texas - none of those that shot (other than Bobski) knew what they were doing

Thoroughly enjoyed meeting and conversing with everyone - perhaps next year I will do some shooting.

PS to those at the shoot - Patty and I made it home safely.

I was a non-shooter today also. Darn, darn and drat!!! My shoulder is pretty torn up and can't raise my left arm as high as my shoulder so it kinda cut me out of any longarm shooting.

BUT, I can tell you it was a great meet! The guys who were shooting all had a blast (pun recognized ). I wanted to get out there - probably because I thought I could shoot better than they could - but then again I haven't done any shotgunning in years so it was most likely all wishful thinking on my part.

It was an all-day affair. The weather was perfect - cloudy, comfortably warm but NOT hot, a cooling breeze that was gentle enough that the shooters hardly knew it was moving their shot around, a couple of trees providing beautiful shade. (HOW did you arrange all that, Bobski?)

It lacked only a few things to make it completely perfect:

1. I needed to be able to mount a gun and shoot. (Sorry, but I'm not finished pouting about that yet)

2. More shooters should have been there. Here it is right smack dab in the middle of the country and ......

3. Plans should be made to make this a regular recurring event. I have suggested this one should be called the MISSOURI GUNFIGHT #1. The one next year would be MISSOURI GUNFIGHT II, followed by III, IV and so on - growing larger every year.

Good job, Bobski, a fine, fine piece of work.

(By the way, if you were not there and your ears were burning, it is because we were talking about you!)

BullShoot (Still filled with regrets and anxiously awaiting next year!!!

Yeah, it was an all day shoot, and what a BLAST! It was the first time I had ever shot at those clay birds, and though the fly in a straight line, they were fast! I predicted that one of the two young fellas would win right off. We started at 9AM, and I had to drop out at 4PM, feet, and legs just gave out. Bob should post scores sometime today. Bacon Buddy1, George IV, was the winner. What a fine young man! GVW3 should be really proud of him. I was really happy to see him win! Ryan, and his son did extremly well considering that both of them are new to shooting. I think everyone learned that you don't just point a shotgun, it has to be on target! Pictures by the ton, will be posting some when I get home tomorrow. Bob did an outstanding job with this shoot, and every one that missed it missed a really good time! His range is small, but has all the things that make it personal! Thanks Bob!

It was great to meet the guys from the forum at the range. Most fun I have had in a long time. What a beautiful facility bobski has setup here. What a beautiful location.

The 1000 mi round trip was will worth it for training from a World Class clay shooter like bobski. He knows everything there is to know about the sport.

Beth here are a few shots of my son bacon buddy.

I missed Brandon on these pix. At 13 he shot all day. He then shot 2 extra rounds when the old guys were wore out. Good showing Brandon.

We pulled in to the yard at 6PM, home safe, and sound! Laua said she had a good time visiting with everyone, and we spent our 22nd anniversary on the road, just like we like it!

Smile Re: #1 TFF/FUN SHOOT IN MISSOURI, JULY

Its hard to know where to begin so here it goes.As Gvw3 said the 1,000 mile round trip was beyond worth it.I will never forget this weekend. For me several things were accomplished. You couldnt have asked for a better host than Bobski. He is a man of his word and every thing he told me he would do he did.Except we didnt get to eat lunch at the Trout farm but that wasnt his fault, just not enough time.He has a top notch clay pigeon farm.Beautiful back drop,it was almost like the mountain it sits on was meant to be a trap and skeet range.Wether your new and learning or a veteran of the sport you can go get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living truly have a stress free day of shot gunning. If this dont turn into yearly event for the TFF family it would be a crying shame.I can say without a doubt Ill be back either way as long as Bobski will have us. The biggest thing that impressed me was Bobskis patients with us newbies and he was very good at giving instruction and demonstrating not one time did he boast about his personal acheivments,he does not bragg on himself at all and you dont find guys like this anymore. No matter what you do in life usaully guys are quick to tell you how great they are and make you feel small But not Bobski hes a classy guy. It was awesome to meet all the guys,Carver and his wife were very personable and easy to talk to and I hope we meet again and he is pretty good with a shotgun.Gvw3 and his son stayed next door to us in the hotel and are great guys even though George jr.beat me.lol I didnt get to tell them goodbye cause they were gone when we got up.I really enjoyed are time together.Tireman came a little later so we didnt have him on are squad but it was nice to meet him and his wife.Bullshoot was a very nice guy and maybe next time his shoulder will be better.Another thing I want to say was Bobskis wife was also a gracious host and she prayed with me concerning my wife and that meant alot to me.I thought she was a great lady.So when you read this Bob please tell her thankyou for me. And I almost forgot, Backyard trap is a whole lot different than the real thing. So much faster on a proffesional field.Ive got so much to learn. So Bobski feel free not to post any scores.lol If they didnt show up then they dont need to see them.lol

Ryan42 we are prying for your wife right now. I could see your back was hurting you over the shoot so don't worry about your score. I was just trying to keep up with all you guys.

We had to take off early so we couldnt see you before we left. I had to get back so I can get to work. As a matter of fact I am at work now. Hope your back is better....

I'll have to let Bob tell you what all we shot, I do know there was Skeet, Trap, and Olympic Skeet, along with a few others. I have shot Dove, Ducks, Quail, and Pheasants in my life, but skeet, and trap, is no where near the same. These clay pigeons are about 3, or 4" in diameter, and they are shot form the automated throwers at 60mph! A Dove in flight has a wing span of around 6, to 8", making it easily twice as large as these clays. A dove might could reach a speed of 60mph, but I've never seen one going anywhere near that fast! Ducks are usually shot as they come in to land on your decoys, and they have a wing span of well over 1 foot, and moving slow! Just because you are a bird hunter, don't think that shooting these clays will be easy, it ain't! They are fast! A lot faster than I am! A few shots of the group at work! The first shot is Bob showing us the ropes!
