wow we got lucky.I was gonna ask you, here in Indiana we have pretty tough winters so I was wondering how long the local ranges stay open?In other words is it like golf courses.Up here golf courses are open as long as no snow is on the fairways and greens.

Ryan you bought a 700? My son Bacon Buddy has been out twice looking for a new shot gun. He isn't happy with his after shooting boski's

There is nothing wrong with Bacon Buddy's gun, it's just not a skeet gun! For hunting, or home defence, it is a good choice. The reason for the discomfort is the fact that the gun is too light for prolonged shooting. Tireman left early because his gun was beating up his shoulder, and Bacon Buddy's gun was doing the same to his face. In this picture you can see the lump on his cheek.

may i suggest
http://www.rpgfirearms.com.au/RECOIL%20REDUCERS.htm i bought a older Baikal O/U and had one of these put in and could shoot it all day other folks got to like it too , sold it , dont shotgun much and then its mainly BP i really only got it to help the local club out , govt was trying to close em , a few hundred extra members and they weren't able too ![]() my idea of a shot guns a rem 870 or mossy 500, and they be highly restricted here (all pumps in this state) Last edited by jack404; 07-20-2012 at 08:40 AM.. |

may i suggest a semi auto skeet gun? 1100 or a nice old model 50 winchester is perfect. if gvw4th can afford a pigeon grade engraved winchester M12 skeet, well...by all means! enjoy life! rule of thumb, the heavier the gun, the less kick.
ryan bought 700x powder, gvw. |

in a hunting sport where you might shoot a box of shells a day at birds, the guns that the majority of shooters brought to the tff meet would be ok.
but when you are shooting 8 to 10 boxes a day, the better quality the gun and the heavier, the better. carvers 1100 with forearm weight was the best gun at the match for what was required of it. tiremans A5 was next, but it lacked a good recoil pad. and of course as you saw, my old workhorse winchester M50 shot anything you put in it all day and my M12 was so heavy, it absorbed most of the recoil when shooting trap. bacon buddy will attest to it. so in the future when some bozo's post over in the shotgun room talking about how they love their coachguns, you are free to join me and laugh when they say they are going to use it for target shooting. you all lived thru an all day ordeal shooting with some insight to what kick really is. My son has been looking for an 1100 or over under since we left MO. We need to do this again. It was the most fun I have had in a long time. I didn't have a real issue with recoil. My Mossberg 535 was pretty heavy. boski's light hand-loads in skeet worked great.

thus the beauty of reloading. you get to shoot a much lower recoil load. but as most people do, they buy a mossy or 870, and march out to walmart and get 3 dram loads and punish themselves. with education and insight, the game can become much more enjoyable if it doesnt hurt as much.
gvw, make sure your son gets a nice 1100, like a tournament grade gun, with an adjustable comb. or heck, just get a nice M50! |

Uh, not legally!
![]() Gators ain't too smart! They will eat just about anything, and when you combine these two things, it ain't hard to catch, or shoot one! I've even caught them on trotlines when fishing!
