You may want to look at the Ruger Bearcat. I have one an carry it for yard work and fun, small, reliable, and fun to shoot.

I have read 2 articles on the new Ruger Lite 22/45 and both were positive. You surely could get some nice grips that she would love for that and it sounds like a blast to handle. I would see if you could find one of these for her to check out. I love the Ruger and Browning semi-auto .22s period, can't go wrong with either one.
