Thanks, DixielandMan, I had forgotten, the Army's Birthday. But you just reminded me of my ceremonial participation of the 200th Birthday of the Army. I had the honor of being in the group of ramp gaurds for president Ford when he came to Ft. Benning, GA., to celebrate the occassion. They lined us up on each side of the ramp/stairs that he walked down to get off of Air Force One. They must have only had us there to catch him in case he fail.
The Sargeant of the Gaurd made us take the firing pins out of our M-16's, what an insult. A sad commentary. Disclosure: this is a true eyewitness account of actual event. Last edited by whymememe; 06-14-2012 at 01:33 PM.. |

I have one flying in the back, which is always flying and illuminated at night. Today, I also have one flying in the front, at the base of the pole there are stacked rifles, M-16 replicas and large scale model Harley Davidson.
Thanks for being a patriot, hunter |

June 14 is my grandson's birthday (6 years old) so it's easy to remember. my flag is displayed during the day except in inclimate weather.

Didn't know until I woke up and turned on the news. Don't have a flag to fly so does that make me unpatriotic? If so I be sure to let my retired Army Major, former POW, veteran of WW2 and Korea, retired CIA officer, grandfather know he hates this country because his flag is in the closet.

The banner waved at my house, and at work. Only flies on special occasions. Not lighted. I work odd hours.

It wore out.
