COMPUTER QUESTION: Retreving deleted email? How?
I can't believe I did this, I've been online over a decade.....on phone, reading Yahoo email, went to delete ONE email, hit the entire page button, went to uncheck and ZAP, I hit DELETE which is a tiny fraction above the page button. All 2012 em gone, so can I get it back....program or software for that? Geezzzz, so easy to do! (NOTE: my cell phone still shows it's emal for Yahoo account, slightly different mail.)

Trash bin EMPTY.
But I went to Yahoo assistance, requested to restore my email to the last 0-4 hours today, here's the reply: Thank you! Hello mjp, Thank you for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care. •If you are reporting abuse, we appreciate your efforts to make our community better. We will investigate, and take action where appropriate. We may contact you if additional information is required to complete our investigation. •If you are submitting a request for assistance, or asking a question, we will respond, usually within 24 hours. Learn more about IPv6 readiness. Sincerely, The Yahoo! Customer Care Team --------------------------------------------- No guarantees it will be 100% correct but what the heck, basically my 2012 Yahoo em is GONE. They will do a restore.....I'll let you all know what happens. "Dumb*** mjp" ![]() Last edited by mjp28; 06-14-2012 at 05:38 PM.. |

Here's where I went:
Yahoo! Mail/Messenger Restore Help Form * All fields required unless otherwise noted. •Please Click Here if You Need Help with Yahoo! Contacts •Please Click Here if You Need Help with Yahoo! Messenger •Please Click Here if You Need Help Logging into Your Yahoo! Account Please read this before asking us to restore your messages: * We can only restore messages that were lost in the last 48 hours. * We can’t guarantee a successful restore * A restore returns your account to the time you specify, which means that ALL messages, including instant messages and email messages, received after that time are deleted and cannot be retrieved. * Before requesting a restore, backup any messages sent or received within the last 48 hours that you want to keep. Please read this article for complete details on the risks of a restore, and to learn how to backup your messages, before submitting your restore request. |

if it's webmail instead of a local client.. he MAY be able to get them back depending on how the server stores or deletes them...

There's also a free Mailwasher that allows you to all but bounce. I would think Yahoo allows you to have the mail sent to your 'normal' email service ( IP ). You could look at all of them, and bring the ones you want to your PC for safe storage, and back em up on disk, if needed. Quote:

Web mail is not the best for saving you emails. I wish you luck with yahoo.
What I would do is setup outlook or outlook express with your isp email. You can save that on your own hard drive. You can also do that with a google email address. Yahoo at one time allowed this option but now they want you to pay for it. My wife did the same thing with Comcast. They were able to restore her emails. Yahoo has no real incentive in restoring this for you.

i think the best way to go is to use a mial client.. like windows mail or outlook express that it repalced. that way you download mail from your server and have a copy at home.. if you delete.. it goes into it's trashcan.. so you have 1 safety level.
i also know on smart phones.. like my wifes iphone you can download copies of mail and not delete on server. i know yahoo and embarq can be used with clients.. because I do.. |

Are they still available on your cell phone? If so, you may be able to resend them to yourself or place them in a temp. archive folder and recover them that way.

That's not a email program. It's web based service for sending/receiving. Thunderbird, Outlook, etc,. are email programs.
I wanted to know the program.
