Default My new reloading area

I finished up my reloading area today. Built a shelving unit to hold all my supplys and details for loading. Tell me what you think of it and what you think I still need to do.

Nice, very nice. You'll be out of room before you know it.

Looks great One thing youll want to add is a tumbler to clean your brass but there not real expensive. You dont have to have one but it sure makes it nice. Some guys like the ultrasonic cleaners as well.Your definitely on the right road.

That bench is still way to neat! Post up a pic after it starts to look like your workbench in the background.

That is a great set up and it will evolve naturally to suit your needs. You are quite the craftsman.

The only thing I would add is a bunch of barstools so we can all come over and you can put a BBG on for us.

Looks good.

Looks very good. You've done nice work puting it together. It looks like you have room to expand as your needs grow.

I have separate drawers/compartments for each caliber I reload, so I can keep the powder, primers, and tools all together and reduce the risk of mixing them up. Small pistol primers are about the same size as small rifle primers.

I like it! I would suggest that you paint, or prime the table top, makes clean up easier. I would also suggest that you build more shelves! You will need them in the not to distant future! Mine is about the size of yours, but I don't have no where near enough shelf space.

I am hoping that your bench area is temperature/humidity controlled since I saw your powder cans sitting on a shelf.

Otherwise, to dang neat and even more shelves will be needed.

yep, that's the back 'clutter' room of the house.. the room I get to 'play' in.. so it is temp / humidity controlled. I also have each of my powder cans in a ziplock baggy for extra humidity control.

the pic may be decieving.. but it looks alot less organized in person.

I have another set of shelves about that big setting off to the left of the camera, that I have not had time to set on the other table and mount up.. well.. you can see SOME of the other shelf setting on the ground. I am also utilizing the space UNDER the table and the shelves under the bench.. and I have a scholl type desk with integral chair and desk and book rack to the sid eof that. that's where my relaod books like and I work up my loads. got it at a school sale for 5$ makes a great shooting rest too! I'm sure I'll need to build a 'bookshelf' sized set to go behind it as well. i keep shpopping yardsales and such for them. Idon't liek the lil particle board ones if I can help it.. I lucked up and at that same school sale got a real wood bookshelf that is in the wives library room, and I got a HD metal cart for my shop.

Nice...good job. Looks like about 4' wide, as you add stuff on the 1-by
shelving you made need a center support to avoid sagging....
And I might keep an eye on the sawdust in the background.
Everyone should have a reloading bench....don't ya think????

i got screws thru the back of the osb into the shelves for support. though if I notice a sag I'll brace it.

can't tell but she has a coat of clear utrethane on her.. so sawdust should be nill.

good points though!

I agree it looks good but more shelves is a must. im very limited on space right now but hopefully come wenter that will change. My dad and i have plans of building a room for reloading. Im thinking something 8ft by 12ft interior benches on 2 walls and one wall nothing but shelving .

measure your usualy items to go on shelves and build them accordingly, with some large at top and bottom, to maximize your space.

take pics too!
