Default FN-49 / 7.62 NATO

I have an FN-49. I believe it is Ex-Argentinian Navy.

Converted to 7.62 NATO. Marked "KASC G'BORO NC FN-49 - 7.62 NATO"
on right rear of receiver beneath sliding cover.

Matching Serial numbers (#0058) on stock and all parts. Has black paint rather than blueing or phosphate finish.

Marked ARA and with żArgentina? crest near receiver.

Marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE__ HERTSAL, BELGIQUE".

Flash hider/muzzle break thread protector removed.

With two magazines modified to ten (10) round capacity.

Stock is a little 'rough', having names 'picked' into it by various prior users.

Complete, operable. Shows little bore-wear. Receiver parts, springs, etc. all good. Rear 'Ladder' sight operates well. Gas-block operates well. Have not changed gas operating proportioning valve.

I would be very interested in determining its value.

Thank you

Carl Wyant

First, welcome to tff. This is a great place to spend time online. The only info I could find in my book was for a model 1949 or SAFN 49. I don't know if it is the same. In ex. cond- 600 vg-500 good-300 fair 225 poor 150. Neat looking rifle.

Those rifles were originally in 7.65x53 and converted in Argentina by a local company. KASC is the importer; I have not found anything on them.

KASC

"Kimberly Ann Sanders Corbett" LLC

Formed in 1991, dissolved in 1999.

Purpose:"Sales of firearms to foreign countries"

Hit the North Carolina Secretary of State's site, do a search by
corporation name if you need more info.

Took about 2 minutes--my Google-Fu is strong today
