Default S & W.

S & W 38 S&W Ctg. not used much,spent most of its life wedged in behind a water heater. (housing project) .. sure not worth much?..find no Military marks. ser.746XXX

It dates to 1941. Actually, it looks to be in pretty good shape. A little oil and some bronze wool to remove the crud and it should clean up nicely. Don't use steel wool, sandpaper or emery cloth.

To make any kind of valuation, we would need to see good, clear pictures, both sides, top and butt. Also close ups of any unusual markings, since those guns were made in .38 S&W only for foreign governments - the normal caliber was .38 S&W Special.
