Default So, our a/c is out again

For the second time this summer. Last month it was the fan, now the compressor is out. The landlord gave us two window units today to use until he can get it fixed.

At least he's trying to take care of ya. I deal with a lot of landlords that really just don't give a darn

How soon before he gets it fixed? When my units break down, I have an a/c guy on the job the same day. If he has to order parts, I will put my tenants up in a motel for the night.

Yea, sounds like he is buying some time. He may not have the cash for a compressor? I dont like sleeping without my a/c anymore and I dont expect my tenants to do anything I wont do.

Sure has been a tough year on the ACs.

HVAC, good business for young guys... and gals to think about if you like to study and work at it!

There are some grants and loans out there for qualifying people, contact your school.

After my dad retired then retired again he taught HVAC until his late 70s, he liked it. They always had students who got grants plus some good students got hired before graduation.

Check it out.

2 1/2 years ago my new land lord told me at lease signing that if I wanted the central air to work I would have to furnish and install the outside unit on my own dime. at least the "A" coil and line set was there. I have friends who owed me favors so I called in a few and got it all done for less that $40. beats the hell out of listening to dual window units.

a normal tenant would have suffered or demanded he pay for it. I was raised different and have picked up quite a few skills in my life. I prefer to take care of things on my own if at all possible. as a matter of fact the landlord has commented on how much better the house/yard look now than it ever has in the 15 years he has owned it.
