Default Living in the 21st Century

I was visiting my son and daughter-in-law last night when I asked if I could borrow a newspaper.

'This is the 21st century, old man,' my son said. 'We don't waste money on newspapers. Here, you can borrow my iPad.'

I can tell you, that bloody fly never knew what hit it...

We used to use newspapers to wrap glassware in and to wash windows. I'd like to see how much protection an i-pad gives to glassware, and how well it acts as a squeegee.

In some places they still use newspapers to wrap fish suppers in over here. Can't say much about the fliexibility and heat retention qualities of an iPad.

we save all ours for the woodstove in the winter to get the fire going, we heat with wood only. propane is too expensive with our old furnace.

how else ya supposed to wrap your mason jars of homemade wine?

so many uses... newspapers don't run out of battery life either...

makes great wrapping paper for Christmas presents...

I have used the Sunday Funnies, exclusively, for Christmas wrapping paper for the last 30 years. Wrap it in the funny papers and then close every seam with duck tape. Nobody has to guess who THAT ONE's from.

I've used the comics for years and now, I even use some of the other parts of the paper. Like Alpo said, everyone knows who wrapped that one.

I like that.

I think I would spend more time reading the wrapping paper than I did opening the present.

If the Cincinnati Enquirer gets any thinner, it will be practically non-existent. I think that we have it delivered every AM more out of tradition rather than anything else.

Her parents kept telling her to put away her toys, and she still hasn't learned.

I couldn't find the full version. I have seen the first part where she asks her dad how he likes the new ipad. When she asks about apps he sais "what apps" and then that is when he scapes it off. Priceless.
