Default Help - Flintlock Pistol

A friend of mine found this old flintlock pistol for $20 at a garage sale. He wants to keep the gun for his wall, but wants to know more about the gun so he can tell stories to his family and friends. I didn't see any barrel markings or stock markings other than the little bit of decorative markings.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

It appears to be a working pistol but I am not sure about the pan and the modern screws...very modern screws...

Looks like a CVA kit gun.

Hawg is right - a modern reproduction. Excellent for a wall hanging and a story about how he got it for $20 when a shop would have asked 50 for it.

PS - I would have given $20 for it.

Most likely a CVA (as stated above), JUKER/JUKAR, or Miroku (sp), Made in spain or or in th cae of Mirku japan. Geat wall hanger bUT functionl gun as well. Value is between $50 and $100 depending on what shop or who wants one. The inlays lead to the guess a kit gun.

It looks like the touch hole has been drilled out way oversize - or else there was a touchhole liner that is now missing. I don't think it should be fired as is.

Cheap guns like that didn't have liners. It was probably drilled out in an attempt to make it fire. The frizzens were soft steel and didn't spark very well.
