Default The Taurus is GONE

Well some of you remember the problems that I had original PT1911. Back to Taurus 3 times and they replaced it with a SS Gold Trim with rail. That one shot 8" low at 25 yards. I was not going though the trouble again. Boise Gun Company had several Springfield Range Officers, now they have one less...
Got a very fair trade in. ($600.00) and now I have this. This is what I wanted originally.

Buying a Taurus 1911 has always been a crap shoot. Some
are good and some not so good.

You did well on the trade.

Now, for the range report.

Well done Glen. Boise Gun Company is a great LGS, and nice selection.

Great buy! You will wonder why you ever went Taurus after shooting your Springer, and BTW I've shot two Taurus' in my life both had serious problems, MAJOR accuracy issues and the 454 Raging Bull Cylinder lock went bad and would fly open every shot. NO Thanks!

I have found Shot placement with a 1911 has a lot to do with shooting skill and technique. Also type of ammo used. Good luck with the Brazilan recivered SA.

Nice Springfield.

When I first got into shooting, I shot a Taurus PT1911 that my local range had for a rental. Only thing I didn't like about it was the grips. They chewed up my hands pretty good.

I have shot a few Taurus handguns but have never owned one, and I never will. I thought about it but after what Glen went through I don't think so.

Too bad, I have some tack drivers...My taurus with the snakeskins I paid 400 bucks for it and its a flawless tack driver. My 24/7 pro compact 45 has 3500 plus rounds thru it trouble free and I have several others that are just fine. But, I understand not wanting to take a chance.

About three months ago I was deciding to consider trying a Taurus 1911, in fact my motivation was from this forum. I have only shot the revolvers and was not too impressed. I felt the accuracy in them was not too good and one revolver had timing issues right out of the box. Just like Glen the guy I worked with was frustrated with the customer service that Taurus gave him so I was turned off. Then when I heard the reviews of the Taurus 1911 here on the forum I kind of raised an eyebrow so to speak. I went and looked at some and decided to go for it but when I heard what happened to Glen it just kind of made me reconsider.

It's ok though because I found that what I really want is the Springfield 1911, and the Remington 1911 so they are on my hit list and I think they are both great pistols.
