So...what are the thoughts on 9mm Berrys bullets???
Thinking about purchasing some.

I have never used them myself, but have a friend at the range that uses them all the time. He is quite happy with them and has no problems relaoding with them. I have shot a few of his rounds with his pistol and they shot well for me. Hope this helps.

I've used Berry's and they were reasonably accurate. I did find they required a little more attention during reloading to keep from damaging the thin plating, both during seating and crimping. Make sure you expand the case enough and don't over crimp. The recommendation on plated is to keep velocity below 1200 fps (shouldn't be a big issue with the 9) and powder charge weights should be closer to lead than jacketed. That said, I don't use them anymore as I find lead and a couple of brands of jacketed are less expensive (in bulk) and as or more accurate than the plated.

I avoid buying Berrys, they are mildly accurate at best and are priced the same as FMJs from both Precision Delta and RozeDist (zero). I choose to shoot FMJ's for the same money, funny thing is my logic is in the minority around here!

I'm with ya! I will not pay Jacketed prices for inferior plated bullets.

I use them for plinkers. I find a lot of variance in the bullet length from round to round, so it can be a bit of a hassle to maintain a constant O.A.L. in my experience with them.

Im with ya both.. Ill use them if I get em for free.99, but I mostly use cast lead or real jacketed.

I use a lot of Berry's and have never had any problems with them, either with the loading of them or with accuracy.

I have found that you can buy them cheaper at some of the big mail order houses versus getting them direct from Berry's web site. I just ordered 2000 230 grain .45 Berry's bullets from Grafs at about $25 cheaper than they were at Berry's.

Looks like I'm going to have to do some casting when the cooler weather get here. Just too hot out there right now to be slaving over liquid lead!!

I use them but the price has got so close to jacketed that there is really no savings value. Unless you can find them priced like a box I have on the shelf yet that has a $9.99 price tag on it.

Hopefully Berrys is following some of these threads and gets back to the drawing board with pricing, I believe in supporting US manufacturers but they are entirely too proud of their products, unfortunatly for them this is one customer who spends at least 1k per year on bullets which they have lost.

Its got permanent powder stains and worn out bluing to prove it. And 2 barrels to its credit. And Ive only had it about 6 years.

take a look at precision bullets - www.precisionbullets.com- 45ACP 230 gr RN $120/K for 2000, freight inlcuded. shoot great, moly doesn't smear, clean at 850 fps, and one of the most accurate out of my XD45.

9mm 115 gr RN $67/K for 3500, again frt. included. shoot them at about 1100 to 1175 in three different CZ 75's, no leading and more accurate than I am.
