So a buddy of mine needed a good scope for a new rifle he got. It was a custom target rifle built on the 1917 Remington Enfield action. So I needed a new scope for my 308. I sold him the scope (Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x40mm). We talked and he said it would be a month or two to come up with the funds. I said no problem then he got to talking about an M1 carbine he had. Long story short I ended up with the M1 carbine and him the scope. Now not sure if I am going to keep the carbine or use it as trading fodder.
I don't need nor really have room for another rifle. A Local shop has Smith M&P 40's on sale for $350 was thinking of seeing if they would do a trade.

I learned to shoot with dad's M1 Carbine. It's a sweet gun. I see quite a few people saying "I used to have one, wish I still had it."
Someone else could be able to tell you how much it's worth. |

We take ours out every time we go shooting, it's a fun gun to shoot that's for sure.

Wish I lived closer to you. I'd go buy one of those Smiths so I could trade it to you for that carbine....

Is that a Universal carbine? It is hard to read what it says on the receiver. It looks to be in great condition, the bolt is a little rough but every thing else looks good. If you get around to shooting it, I think you would change your mind about trading it off. The M1 Carbines are very much fun to shoot. From what I have heard, Universal's are not known to be the best quality carbines, but I know it would still be fun to shoot.

They are going to want $$ along with that carbine. I would ask $400 for the Carbine.

Ammo is readily available and reasonably priced. Lots of magazines out there that are cheap. I have a Universal and an Inland. Like them both. They both have shot flawlessly. Shoot it and enjoy.....

I buy ammo for mine when I can find a good deal on it, I have about ten 15 round and three or four 30 round magazines for mine, it is an I. B. M.
