Default Aren't You Glad We "Liberated" Iraq?

So, we just had to invade Iraq to root out the WMD that never existed, kill off an ally of Osama Bin laden who was actually his mortal enemy, but most of all: give the Iraqi's the chance to have a "democracy" which in reality, is just a satellite nation under the reign of Iran.

The only good I can hope we may ever get from that debacle is to learn from it.

Here is what our new "ally" in the WOT has been doing to us:

U.S. Says Iraqis Are Helping Iran to Skirt Sanctions

WASHINGTON — When President Obama announced last month that he was barring a Baghdad bank from any dealings with the American banking system, it was a rare acknowledgment of a delicate problem facing the administration in a country that American troops just left: for months, Iraq has been helping Iran skirt economic sanctions imposed on Tehran because of its nuclear program.

The little-known bank singled out by the United States, the Elaf Islamic Bank, is only part of a network of financial institutions and oil-smuggling operations that, according to current and former American and Iraqi government officials and experts on the Iraqi banking sector, has provided Iran with a crucial flow of dollars at a time when sanctions are squeezing its economy.

If they keep this up, they may compete with Saudi Arabia and pakistan for the title of #1 terror sponsoring nation.

Don't expect them to learn a damned thing. We get involved with wars we don't expect to win because the war industry lobby pays big bucks to our elected representatives to get us into them. What we get in return is dead and maimed young people and crippling debt. In addition to that we also get to make our bureaucrats, the lobbyists, and the war industry suppliers incredibly wealthy. Crippling debt, dead and injured young and incredible wealth, a helluva return on our investments wouldn't you say. May GOD bless these young people for putting their life on the line for their country, and hope that there is a special place in Heaven for them for doing so. In addition to that the deepest, dankest, most abysimal pit in Hell for those that send these young people into wars for the monetary gain that they, the senders will reap from expending someone elses life.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

After getting us in 2 longterm wars, there are still people ignorant enough to say GWB was a great president. Just think, if he would have gotten us into 3 wars, these same people would think he was the greatest president ever.

In a word, YES.
We liberated it, gave it back to them, agreed to let them handle reconstruction their way. Now if they turn it back into a big pile of feces it'll be on them. They're pumpimg 3 million barrels of oil per day now. If they can't run a country on that it's not our fault.

The only thing any of this was ever about was oil. We kicked Iraq out of Kuwait to keep the oil flowing. Then, we make Iraq 'free' to keep the oil flowing. If we didn't need the oil we wouldn't have cared less what they did.
