Default My interview in Outdoor Life

I’m proud to say the May issue of Outdoor Life magazine includes a short piece about me in the “My Outdoor Life” section. Andrew McKean “interviewed” me by emailing a list of questions, which I answered in writing, about my background, career, and how ALS has affected my ability and desire to keep hunting. We covered much more than Andrew was able to publish in the half-page article, so I’ll put my lengthy answers in three posts on my CamoTherapy blog. Here’s the first part:

That was a little long, but well worth the read! What a life you've had. Most of us will never see the kind of hunts you've been on, or the fishing trips you have made. Thank you for an enjoyable hour! By the way, my wife's birthday is Dec. 23rd too!

Lamentations Chapter 5:
1. Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
2. Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
3. We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers [are] as widows.
5. Our necks [are] under persecution: we labour, [and] have no rest.
16. The crown is fallen [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
21. Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.

That was an amazing read and you are an amazing guy Andy. What's super cool was that I was reading about your exploits in Sport Fishing magazine for years as I was a subscriber for about a decade that included the years you were editor. Seems I'm destined to continue reading about you enjoying what I want to be doing- hunting, fishing- living the dream!

On a side note, I spoke to my Texas hog-hunting buddy and I may be able to do some of that late this summer. You know how I like blasting hogs!
Best,
Gary
