Default Bought a Brick of 22LR

Had a gun show in Bakersfield to day, and looked at a lot of rifles and hundreds of knifes. They had very few pistols, being in California and all. I did get a good buy on a brick (500 rds) of CCI .22LR ammo for $30. I could have bought cheaper ammo, but CCI is a good, reliable ammo. In retrospect, I should have bought more, but money is tight this days.

CCI Blazers is about all I buy these days as it is reliable and accurate.
As of late here in my local GS's the price is high. I've found, that if I'm ordering online and meet their shipping cost, ie., an order over $25, you can usually get a brick of the CCI for around 19 or so bucks.

I stopped in at a Dunham's today and picked up two bricks of the CCI Blazers for $17 each. Thought that was pretty good. I got lucky and got a brick of American Eagle for $16 a few months back. It was actually 10 50 round boxes. That stuff shot great in my rifles. Saw some bricks this past weekend of AE at a gunshow....they wanted $31 a brick!!! Wow, got a good deal on it the first time.

I've always liked CCI mini mags. How do blazers compare? Are they hyper velocity? I don't like stuff that's too high a velocity. Got terrible groups with CCI velocitors. Besides that, Ruger told me not to use anything above 1300 fps. They said it wasn't good on the barrel???

I'm not sure the (fps) on the CCI mini mags, but the Blazers with the 40gr. bullets are
1235-fps.. I shoot "alot" of them through the Marlin 60 (which can only handle SV ammo)
and they do fine. Fine handgun .22lr ammo as well.

Looks like i haven't bought any 22 ammo in a while. I have 2 bricks of Winchester Super X. Both marked $13.99. Have a brick of Federal Lightnings. Can't find a price on it but think it was $11.99.

I remember when it went up to $10/brick for good stuff, I got pissed. I would buy a truckload now at that price. CCI is my choice for high velocity anything, Winchester standard velocity is mostly what I shoot thru my smallbore target rifle, cheap and accurate/consistent.

I buy federal bulk packs and AE junk for extra to have on hand though, especially for pistol plinkin'. Seems the 2100 round cans are the way to go most places if you can afford it all at once like that.

these are my buy prices here for CCI

another side of gun control , ammo tax

now when i sell it i have to add another 10% GST ( sales tax)

and somewhere in between i try to make a buck

i make $1 on a 50 round box of stingers and complete 3 pieces of paper work and send em to the cops and the tax man then pay 41 cents in the dollar tax as income ..

so i get maybe 11 cents after postage

so i sell bricks "CHEAP" and make $9 on a brick clean, but buy 55,000 rounds at a time to get that buy price

I buy in bulk myself at least a case at a time. Went through a box and a half of Federal 555 today alone.
