Well, after little thought and large desire I acquired the RIA version. Paid less than 5 for it. Burned through 200 rounds and it performed flawlessly. Pretty impressed with its accuracy as well. It shoots quite a bit better than those high dollar versions in the safe. Guess I'll get a couple more....

Be prepared to show some pictures and give a range report.

I built up a version of the "Super Cooper" using a Colt Combat Commander with a 5" barrel back in the 70's. Carried it a few years and was conned out of it by a brother in law with deep pockets. It was a great setup but I went back to the .45 acp and plan to stick with it. It was a very cool experience just the same!

I've been thinking I need a 38 Super to add to my flock. Not too many around, though.

when I finally get the 38 super up high enough on my long list of gun stuff to buy, I will be getting the RIA to fill that caliber. the super is pretty common in the Philippines so no doubt they make a great 1911 in that caliber. Shot with some locals over there a few years ago, most of them were shooting 38 super; one guy had a .40SW, only a couple .45 ACP's. the super was pretty much the standard round. All of them reloaded for them too.

I've thought about a .38 Super for some time now, just can't get myself to make the plunge into yet another caliber.
