The heat on ice gets hot now, time to root for your favorites! So who ends up raising the cup? Any long shots this year?

Just flew in 20 pizzas from Sams, everyday, stick one in oven, get out the Woodford Reserve, turn on Dir TV;great time of year. Our games start at 3 in the afternoon.
Predictions? Bad policy if your #1 in the East; often the leader gets knocked off. Pens sure got the talent just the same. Come on Wednesday, hurry up and get here. |

Eastern Conference
Here's how the Eastern Conference bracket shakes out: *These are the standings before Sunday night's game between the Boston Bruins and Ottawa Senators. 1. Pittsburgh Penguins vs. 8. Ottawa Senators 2. Montreal Canadiens vs. 7. New York Islanders 3. Washington Capitals vs. 6. New York Rangers 4. Boston Bruins vs. 5. Toronto Maple Leafs The overwhelming favorite in the Eastern Conference is the Pittsburgh Penguins. They've been remarkable this season, posting a 36-12 record and simply steamrolling over most of their competition. Western Conference Here's how the Western Conference bracket shakes out: 1. Chicago Blackhawks vs. 8. Minnesota Wild 2. Anaheim Ducks vs. 7. Detroit Red Wings 3. Vancouver Canucks vs. 6. San Jose Sharks 4. St. Louis Blues vs. 5. Los Angeles Kings Like in the Eastern Conference, the Chicago Blackhawks are the clear favorite. They put up a 36-7-5 record and have the best defense and the second-best offense in the league.

The blackhawks have been pretty un-stoppable this year, but that can change once the playoffs start. I'm still rooting for my Redwings. I wish they would meet the Hawks in the first round for an upset, but I guess we will have to wait til the second round for the wings to knock the hawks out of the playoffs.
However, I have had to eat crow in the past regarding my playoff predictions, and quite frankly, I'm starting to get Used to it. No matter who wins, hockey playoff time is exciting. Best of luck to all. Tim |

Just had NHL channel on and they had Bryzgalov (spelling?) dumping on the Phila sports media for all their ragging on the Flyers. It was great in his broken English, but he sure said it well enough. No joke, for as many times as the Flyers have knocked the Pens outta the dance, I sure miss them not being in the hunt. They'll be back strong nx year.

Hey, we've seen the top dogs get knocked out before -but- I think at least one makes it to the Cup.
I'm rooting for PITTSBURGH in pucks and baseball.....not the NFL.

WHEW, blackhawks 2-1. Pretty much pulled out all my hair, and drank all my beer already. I hope all the games aren't like that, I won't make it.

Yea, I did that last night for part of the hawk game. Got 50 .45colt cases ready to load. Then the game got so intense, put my stuff away put my hawk cheering jersey on grabbed some beer and suffered through the rest of the game.

Pens looked strong shutting out Islanders 5-0; but I've watched too many times the Isles pound the Pens too; every game is it's own challenge. I've been watching Tavares since he was in the juniors; Pens shut him down today; they won't do it every game. Hope Neal is OK.
Got to get to the late western game now. |

What a Wednesday!
Got to see the Pirates beat the Brewers 6-4 in the afternoon. Went outside later watched my INDIANS beat Philly 6-0. At the same time with the family room TV on watched the PENS beat the NYIs 5-0. Looked like the PENS were playing 6 on 5 all game! What a game, now today the NO INDIANS or PENS withdrawl. ![]()

Did ya'll watch the Wings/Ducks last night; don't ya just luv the playoffs. Caps/Rangers was good too but not like seeing Detroit pull that one out. I missed the Blues Game and heard that was a great one also. I actually hope the Islanders show up tonight, and I've seen them pound the Pens too; don't think Pens will sweep.
