Default Marines at Cairo Embassy prohibited from carrying ammo

http://freebeacon.com/reports-marine...ted-live-ammo/

This is the same insanity that led to 223 deaths in Beruit. Don't these people ever learn?!

This is the typical result of a political solution. Trying to have it both ways means you get neither way. We either bring in troops WITH BULLETS, or we don't. Unarmed troops, the stupidest "solution" possible.

If memory serves me, the same was true in Tehran back in November of '79.

Hmmm. I will never understand.

American solders sent to a HOSTILE land, without a way to defend themselves?

And what would obozo say if they got over-ran? What would he tell their familys? As a father, if that would happen to my son, and obozo meet with me to talk i'd knock his ass out cold. Unfreekinbelievable.

She's just following the lead of her leader. Appeasement.

First he would apologise to the attackers for causing them trouble. Then he would claim he defended the embassy by bowing down to the militant attackers.

Our militay is learning lots of lessons over the past few years

like

1. You dont get paid and you dont get hospital like your promised when you come back from war

2. If your in a seal team that kills bin ladin you die in a helo crash afterward

3. If your in a seal team that kills bin ladin well shhhhh, lets keep the secrets quiet. Its in good hands with burrack.

4. And now you dont get to carry bullets to hostile places like this. That makes as much sense as boobs on a bull.

I would quit.

I'd have to be court martialed for refusing to follow orders.

wow. plunk me in foreign country XYZ and don't let me have any ammo, I'm jumping the next vessel home. If I can't be trusted with loaded weapons, then I shouldn't be wearing a uniform in the first place.

I wonder if they just couldn't be 'locked and loaded' and had ammo on them or if there was absolutely no ammuntion at all. Sounds like there was none except for maybe some small emergency stash that no one would divulge.

That's gratitude. The US and EU invested how many millions of $ to set them free from a tyrant and install a democratic government, which promptly voted in the muslim brotherhood.

They can be trusted...to be self-serving and be untrustworthy.

Have you ever been in the US Military?

How do you think you are going to be AWOL and get on the next vessel home?

Yes, if you are leaving your unit unauthorized you will be AWOL and it will be next to impossible to get on a Military aircraft out of the country. The odds are, you will be in prison or back to your unit before you will get out of the foreign country.

Yes, and saw one of my many platoon leaders do it... just left us the day before the invasion in 2003. He's still an officer with a good career BTW!

And if you're AWOL and you get caught, guess how they send you home? on that same aircraft anyway. not something I will likely have to worry about though.

And leavenworth is much better than running around a foreign country sans ammo.

Well I guess the Militaries changed a lot since I was in, there is no way I would have been able to one day just decide to get on a Military aircraft and leave.

I think all our guys should leave. If they expect you be in these dangerous places with no ammo I would leave to. Tell Obama to go there. Let him deal with them with no ammo.

For some silly reason I always thought the United States Marines were stationed at our American embassies to provide protection.............

This must be orders from Ms. Hilliary?????????????????/

What are the Marines?? Targets????

They're "decor" ! IMNSHO I'd opt for the one making that decision and those meekly implementing it to be stood up against a wall. In times past embassies/consulates were considered "national territory" and aggression against one - or an ambassador - was tantamount to a declaration of war. Loss of an embassy was not only a black eye to the host nation, but one with serious consequence - legal and economic - for its citizens at home and abroad

I see no reason not to continue that well-proven practice ! >MW
