Default Why I just joined, or rather was allowed to, TFF...

Hi guys and gals!
Newbie here out of Atlanta, GA.

I requested membership because the last four times, I kid you not, that I did the usual Google/Bing search for some obscure bit of info on some uncommon firearm (what's that little doohickey button on the Mannlicher Schoenauer on the right side in the bolt rail almost?)....guess where I got directed in my search?

Very glad to be here.
Rick

jack404-

Thanks for the welcome!

I'm pretty eclectic.
I shoot a lot of milsurp...Enfields, Garands, M1 carbines.
Also AR's, AK's and NM M1A's.

In handguns 1911's, SIGs, Glocks, Colt SAA, Ruger SA and a bunch of older S&W revolvers and semiauto rimfires.

I love rimfires lately.

I am also crazy about serious adult airguns as I can shoot them in my garage in the condos here.

The "real" guns I shoot at the South River gun Club.

Thanks!

In the whole world...this is my favorite gun to shoot...

Built in 1943 by Holland & Holland.
It could well have landed at Sword, Gold or Juno.

Kinda gives me pause every time I look through the MK1 scope.

Welcome, B27!

There IS a ton of knowledge here, and many good folks willing to share it.
Being a ballanced forum, we also have stupidity and folks willing to share that too.
When you've been here a while, you will have those two sorted out -
LOL!!

OK, what IS that gun in the pic?
Full stock - military - .308? 30-06?
You said H&H, but I am guessing for a military contract -

H&H filled in for the number to create sniper rifles , but became known as tack drivers and hence the prices of them Terry

Welcome to TFF, from the looks of it you will fit right in and have a lot of fun at the same time. Very nice H&H you have there.
Jack:
Those are some nice flints. Love the wood on the stocks.

What jack said.

During WWII the Brits were trying (and succeeding) to produce small arms while being bombed nightly by the Germans.

Production was widely dispersed.
Many firms that had previously specialized in high quality sporting arms of course switched to military small arms production.

Holland & Holland is a world reknowned name for fine guns and I am lucky enough to own a No4 Mk1 (T) sniper rifle built by them in 1943.

two are pedersoli's with "picked wood" option other one is black wattle ( a tad heavy for a rifle stock but its a carbine so not too bad )

add's $80 -$140 USd to the price but i think i've always got my moneys worth eh ..

B27, Welcome aboard! How did you come by your H&H rifle? If you don't mind sharing.

Hey, I fall on the STUPID side of the balance -

So it is a 30-06 using the Enfield config?

GREAT looking rifle!

And Jack - do I see double set triggers on those flinters?
VERY nice -

yes you do i've shown these before ?

Terry standard .303 ball as per the lee enfields

these and the parkers bring the top dollars

my mk4 no T BSA is worth $6000 on a good day and i'd need something nice to go with it to get a H & H

the parkers bring the big bucks as they only made 600, many saw action and typical of parker did not leave the factory until their house guy approved it ( tack drivers at 600 )
