Afghan Women Protest 100-Lash Sentence for 16-Year-Old Rape Victim
But to protest the 100-lash sentence is to protest Islam. According to the Qur'an (24:2), the penalty for fornication is 100 lashes. In order to accuse someone of a sexual sin (such as rape), the accuser must produce four male witnesses (Qur'an 24:4). If the accuser can't produce four male witnesses, the man can't be charged with rape. And if he can't be charged with rape, the girl is stuck with her admission that illicit sex has taken place (which she admitted when she accused him of rape). Hence, she will be given 100 lashes for fornication. Welcome to Sharia.
Two Jihadist suspects 'preparing attack' deported from Italy
Rome, September 25 - Two suspected Libyan jihad militants who were thought to have been trying to prepare attacks on Western targets have been deported from Italy, authorities in Rome said Tuesday.
The unnamed men, aged 26 and 28, are believed to have wanted to stage a revenge attack for an American-produced film that allegedly ridicules Islam's Prophet Mohammed.
The film sparked a wave of violence in the Muslim world and the U.S. ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three other State Department employees were killed in an attack by Islamist extremists in Benghazi earlier this month. The deported men are thought to have links to Salafi militia operating in Libya.
They had been in Rome for a number of months for treatment on injuries sustained in the civil war that led to the end of Muammar Gaddafi's regime last year and they were staying at hotels in the capital.
Investigators said that "they had started activities of proselytism and propaganda for the jihad in the Libyan community to obtain material to carry out attacks against Western interests".
The investigators said the pair came under suspicion because of the "radical nature of their behaviour", above all with fellow Libyans.

Radical Islamists in control of northern Mali are becoming "increasingly repressive," amputating limbs, whipping people in the streets and stoning to death a couple accused of adultery, a human rights group said Tuesday.
The Islamists' efforts to impose their strict form of Islamic law known as Shariah has also extended to banning ring tones on mobile phones that are not Quranic verse readings, as well as prohibiting cigarettes and alcohol.
Women who wear jewelry or perfume, or fail to cover their heads can also face punishment, Human Rights Watch said in its report Tuesday.
"The Islamist armed groups have become increasingly repressive as they have tightened their grip over northern Mali," said Corinne Dufka, senior Africa researcher at Human Rights Watch. "Stonings, amputations and floggings have become the order of the day in an apparent attempt to force the local population to accept their world view."
