Two Border Patrol agents were shot and one was killed Tuesday morning in southern Arizona near Naco, where the patrol station named in honor of slain agent Brian Terry was dedicated recently.

A third agent was involved, but apparently was not hit.

UPDATE: The FBI is leading the investigation with the Cochise County Sheriff's Office, according to KOLD News in Tucson. The incident occurred off Highway 80 about seven miles east of Bisbee. The wounded agent was transported by air to the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson.

The dead agent was identified as Nicolas Ivie, 30, a native of Provo, Utah. He joined the Border Patrol in January 2008.

I went to college in Provo. Looks like a clean cut guy. The coyotes are getting too brazen.

I saw they put up towers every so often and put a shooter and a spotter in each with night vision weaponry. Shoot anything that crosses the border at non-sanctioned points. That is what Turkey and many other countries do to "illegals" and "smugglers". Would cut down on Americans being killed and cut down on illegal drugs.
