Default Sydney dog walker shot in the leg

A man has been shot in the leg while walking his dog in south-western Sydney.

The 21-year-old was on vacant land in Ambarvale when he was confronted by a man who fired a weapon, hitting him in the upper left thigh.

The offender, who is not thought to be known to the victim, fled the area after the shooting at 8pm on Wednesday.

The victim was helped by a local resident before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he was in a stable condition upon arrival.

NSW Police launched an investigation and the crime scene, between Boythorn Avenue and Barnaby Place, is being examined.

Officers are trying to find potential witnesses to the shooting and ask anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

we cant say the guy had walked his dog past the mosque or that the shooter shouted that he had done so and the guy responded he did not know that walking a dog was illegal

and was shot for it , the mutt was probably aiming at the dog
