Default Doing some thinking, am i nutz ?

well most will realise i'm a wheeler dealer horse trader and do ok at it and growing every year

recently i've had some wins in getting SBGO mainstream

i went PC , yep me , all the anti islamist stuff gone from the small bottle , but the result of that is i now supply it officially to Australian Special forces and setting up to supply all our armed services here

to get there i had to become a approved defence supplier and such , done
incorporate , done
and i'm added top line M4 componants and knives (pocket knives) to to range

the first lot of knives i've done dead set cheap to help the folks out as the troops themselves will be paying , but i've manage to sort with manufacturers a deal whereby the army will supply them with decent knives , through me

and the list of items they are wishing to purchase ( mainly US and israeli kit sourced via folks here from the forum ) is growing

so its looking good

so whats the hassle ??

i help out and mentor with a group here

http://www.commandotrust.com/

take a look , it does good things

but besides looking after the kids of our fallen

theres a need to get our wounded back up and operational again even if they are no longer part of the army

i think a couple of our wounded could make a decent living out of this for themselves

i've chatted with a small business training centre who's take them on and train them in the day to day operations of business in a more formal way and i could show em the business and what the army or the SF want from a supplier

so i've been chatting with my old Boss Graham Ferguson all the while racing to set this all up and to get requested items in for consideration testing and approval

CampingJosh is even helping out by getting knives over to me

i reckon it'd suit someone who needs the support being round the military would bring and who does not wish to be dependant on our failing system

so what do you think ?

nutz?

i'm not so sure ..

No matter what it does sound quite interesting.

And even if you help a few good guys it's worth it!

It helps to be a bit nutzo when starting a new venture. Experience speaking here.

It sounds like a good deal, both financially and morally. Good on you, lad.

Jack find you two things a good and honest? reasonably priced chartered accountant with some government contract cost accounting (if there is such a thing in OZ) This is from experience in dealing with OUR federal contract system as a Fed auditor and civilian business consultant,

Second find a good federal contract/grant lawyer that will work with the chartered accountant. I would suggest a aborigine female lawyer. Female because they are dang vicious pit bulls in court and abo to play the race card (that card can work for you)

You may find that some fed contracts give you advantage if you hire vets or aborigines (it is called social justice) I KNOW you will find such people NOT as figure heads but ones With skills or are trainable. You may even find some fed money to help with payroll.

very different system here

everything super official is run by lefties

so i bypass all that and go through CO SOCOM

government accountant here would have a american or punjabi accent

honest

either dead set lefty's or hard core jihad loving

i aint about to hire the guy

i'm going to build a business for someone train them in it and leave them to it

a sales supply situation whereby he sells the SF folks what they ask him to buy for them

his own business , in his name

we can only get stuff like that here if they aint a aussie , ( true as we dont have enough needs, we're taught the illegal immigrants who then BUY $250,000 cars with cash a few weeks after being allowed in on humanitarian grounds are the only ones entitled to that sort of thing )

look by coincidence i discovered a need in the SF supply chain

i've got enough time in SF's here that folks remember me and know i'll do the right thing by them , they in turn have asked me to supply them and assist them with stuff they cannot buy thanks to the stupid laws we have here .

i've agreed , but think this is a great opertunity for a wounded digger to do

i have a business , i have a few , but this one can stand on its own though

it wont make the guy rich , our SF aint that big

but theres a living there for someone who is willing to do whats needed to keep it up

in 2 weeks i've moved $9K of stuff through them

mostly trivial stuff but stuff they cant buy and why we have approved suppliers of specialist kit

i'm one , and i'd like to find a troop who's like to do similar and we'll get him permitted up so he too can supply the folks and take over

for themselves

with a hand available if needed ( if they get stuck on anything they can call me anytime) and besides , i know the SF's will always look after their own ..

cheers

Jack - definitely NOT Nutz. If you get supply contracts and always meet them then you'll keep supplying. I own my computer repair business and I make an OK living - I'll never get rich because I won't rip people off, but my wife and I won't go hungry either. Everybody tells me I charge too little even most of my customers. I won't charge more though.

Here I have to do other things also other than just my business. I raise sheep and goats for fleece and meat. That venture though won't start making anything for another 2 years. The very best thing about owning your own business is that everything you do you are doing to make your own living not being dependent on someone else. When you're doing something that helps and empowers other people also then it's win win. Definitely not nutz.
