Have read threads from April 2010. Other than probably mfg'd by Crescent or Stevens, and sold by Belknap, looking for more detail about the weapon if anyone has any. Thanks.
overall length = 43 1/2" barrel length = 25" (overall barrel length = 28 3/8") 12 ga, single shot stampings: "Volunteer Gun Co." - lft side "Choke Bored" - top rear of barrel "LJ" with "745" below - behind trigger guard on lower backstrap

Welcome to TFF.
Vorisek's "Shotgun Markings" also lists Volunteer as a brand name made for Belknap Hardware of Louisville, KY and used on Crescent Model 10 single, Iver Johnson New Model Champion, and Stevens Model 94. A clear photo might identify which you have, but there's not much to distinguish old single barrel shotguns. Last edited by hrf; 10-18-2012 at 03:04 PM.. |
