Default civil war bayonet?

Hi ,I want to show you this bayonet,a buddy of mine purchased this knife/bayonet on a flea market in Belgium. It was on sale for 250€ (310$)
can you tell me what kind of bayonet this is? on what kind of rifle it was used, and if original what would be the value?

Just doing a little searching, and it appears that there are more
" RARE original dahlgren RARE" bayonets for sale on the net right
now than were ever produced. Caveat Emptor

Whoa! 310 dollars for a reproduction, If I was your friend I would fly back to Belgium and get a refund.

RJay he is a Belgian ,so am I,
I told him to present the bayonet on this forum, more knowledgeable people here !
it's Not even a good copy of a Dahlgren bayonet , probably made in India or Pakistan;,the type of lettering oozes fake.

There were some repros out of Japan in the mid 60s that were superbly done; properly aged they could (and probably do) pass for originals now.

a lot of fake objects are made in Japan ,I saw an antique sharps 4 barrel derringer, small stamp in the frame "made in japan" almost undetectable by the naked eye,
thanks again for all your opinions

Sometimes you need to remove the grip/hilt to find out if a blade is original or not. Especially true with Samurai, such as this one I have. The markings on the tang identify who made it, but you'll need to have someone translate for you.
