Finish on a Blackhawk 357 - The Firearms Forum

I have used Brownwells cold blueing on several guns with very good results. However I have a Blackhawk 357 with Holster wear and cannot seem to touch it up. Actually the finish on the 357 does not look like blueing. Any suggestions.

Depends on model & part-
NM? - 3 screw?
Barrel- Ejector rod housing?
They're different-

Ruger uses a relatively low carbon steel on the blackhawks. Cold blues have a hard time reacting to it. try 44-40. It reacts the best but only works on touch ups. dont do large sections with it. The grip frames are aluminum and are anodized. Cold blue will do nothing to it.
