Talking head on CNN said they could move the election due to the storm. Warships are waiting outside the shores. Refineries shutting down.I was thinking this is Obamas chance to order martial law and stop the elelction...My prayers for everyones safety on the East Coast.

I heard the Coast Gaurd was called out this morning to rescue 17 people from the HMS ?I can't remember?, a 180 foot 3 mast salinging vessel, that had gotten caught up in the storm. Apparently they issued a MAY-DAY that they were taking on water and the ship was going down. The CG had deployed a chopper and a C-130. I get the chopper but what in world they gonna do with a C-130?

Actually, that was the ship that was sunk by Jack Sparrow and Will Turner as they captained the "Black Pearl" and the "Flying Dutchman"

It's wonderful, I mean fandamntastic, that all is great in your little world. Maybe you could spare a little sympathy for those that are in the direct path?

Well seeing as my county closed schools shut down the county government and canceled anything and every thing for a storm that is not any worse than what we have seen before. Really it is hardly raining here. I was not making fun of those who are in the middle of it. Good lord relax a little you will live longer.

Relax a little? Maybe I would if I didn't have so much family in it's path, like my 3 and 8 year old grandsons, my daughter and son in law, my wifes sister, husband, their 2 sons, my sister, her husband and their 2 sons. I guess I should just relax a little.

Better yet, I think you'll be the first to go on my ignore list.

They can locate and mark the spot quickly. And if I was to guess, they also may be capable of dropping flotation devices too.

Prayers for those in the storm path.

I have been through a few severe storms in Shetland; people up there take them in stride. Winds regularly get up to 40-55 mph; every few years they get up to force 12 on the beaufort scale-- >74 mph. I have watched waves crashing on rocks sending up spray higher than a house. There is a lighthouse in Shetland atop 200 ft cliffs that gets its windows knocked out by rocks thrown up by waves. Awesome forces at work.

We have been getting 55-60 mph winds with some rain. Nothing too bad yet. Schools were cancelled at 4pm. Hoping they are tomorrow too!

a Few days ago i thought this storm would have weakened as it went up the east side encountering possible cooler water. Not so. I now think this is Gods hand somekinda way. Maybe not hard enough to stop the election but just enough to keep the trash from voting.

And what "trash" would you be referring to?

My best thoughts, wishes and prayers go out to all the people in danger from the storm tonight. Hopefully it will be less then what they seem to be expecting.

Winds pick up here constant at about 15 mph gusts up to 30 mph. Power still on, some power out. Mainly trees on lines.
