Looks like NY is getting hammered.

Do you guys remember the movie taxi driver? The one with Robert Deniro?

Remember when he was in front the mirror saying "YOU talking to me"

Well Al Gore is standing in front the mirror saying "I told em, global warming"

4 million without power. Gee its gona take a month to get the power back all around.

I wonder how the great black hope is gona handle this?

I sure hope fema remembers that water containers cant be more than 16 oz in NY. They gona have to send back all those quart size water bottles.

this is way too messed up. lost contact with 2 of my kids in jersey, plus my friends. guessing cell towers went down. my other daughter has a watch overnight on her boat in rhode Island(coastie) no beach left where I used to live, ocean met the bay and they're saying 8-12 feet of water over the main road on the barrier island. lost part of an amusement pier. good reporting by APP.com. asbury park new jersey
hope i can get some info in the morning,

Losing contact and not knowing are about the two worse in this case. We'll just keep praying and have faith that good news will come quickly.

Huge parts of our area without power. WE are ok for now but still very high gusts of wind. I have to run generator to my daughter down near Lehighton PA as they have no power and during Irene last year they were out for 3 days because they are rural and not a priority. Looks like they are getting a generator from Santa this year LOL. Up side is the Gov. gave us today off work and possibly tomorrow also. Makes it easier. All of Stroudsburg area also without power. Also on up side we got little rain so far and not much more expected.

prayers for all

OWS crowd is trash to me. That is what I think. They sleep in the open, urinate in the open, expect freebees. They interrupt the normal way of life for others.
What other trash is there?

Doing OK here in NH. No power right now, and probably will be out for a few days. Trying to get back home for the election. Might be pulling out tomorrow. High winds, and lots of rain. Trees down on all the roads, but that happens up here anytime they get high winds. Hope to be home soon. Praying for all in the path of the storm. Reports this moning are that 16 have died so far. NY transit is shut down all the subways are flooded. http://www.wmur.com/news/national/Sa...z/-/index.html

Heard from family and friends. Sitting around with lanterns, propane heaters and generators running. Grandsons pigging out on ice cream, they don't want it to spoil.

Carver,
Be careful and have a safe trip home.

With 4 million + power outages you can expect that it will take a min of 3 weeks to get it all back on. Maybe more. The first 3 days will be spent clearing roadways. You guys are in for a long process of just getting basic services back to normal. Cell phones may not work. Texting is a better option. Some area codes will be down. Very impressive storm to say the least.

I haven't heard from my family in NJ yet, but talked to some yesterday, all were in places they felt were safe.
Today's Asbury Park Press showed the Belmar, NJ boardwalk was washed away, they said parts of it are scattered through town now. That's the town I was in last time I visited.
Gov. Christie said they knew of 3 deaths in NJ. I hope and pray that's all. My thoughts are with all of you out there and pray for a speedy recovery for your area.

If you have not heard form friends and family that is ok. No news is good news. It will not be uncommon to not hear from family for a while. Phones are down. Try not to worry.

Oh and dont be a hero right now. In the hard hit areas if a neighbor has a tree thru the roof dont get on a ladder and start cutting. Medical help is a long way away if you can get to it. Your better off trying to do the little things that make life worth living. Consintrate on hot water and hot food. Let the pros take care of large projects. If you break a bone you are no use to your family. Keep your wits about you. You choices are very important right now.
