Look at the back wall of the freezer. Is it covered in frost?
Yes= defrost problem. No= Possible bad evap fan, or air return blocked. I'll keep checking back as time allows. If its frosty on the back wall, I have a feeling it is, I'll help you diagnose it

Agree with AD, most likely a defrost problem. Do you have a multimeter? that's about all you'll need other than a couple screwdrivers and possibly a short jumper wire.
Is it a JDC or JCD model ?

Don't be some damned anxious to get rid of something. You have your resident online appliance tech here to help you through ![]() My guess is its the adaptive defrost board. Very common. I stock 2 on my van. Easy to diagnose too

1st. Open the freezer door and listen. Can you hear your evap fan running? Is it blowing air around the freezer? 2nd. If the fan is running, shut the freezer door. Open the fridge and feel up at the top left hand side. Do you feel any air flow anywhere?

Sounds like the fan is running. Don't feel air flow in frig. It's cool but not cold. Turned it all the way cold, so far only staying cool. Noticed this yesyerday.

Well my friend, if your fan is running and you have no air flow to the refer, then you have one of a couple problems.
Either you have a defrost problem again, and you caught it early this time. To where the frost build up hasn't accumulated on the outside of the evap housing, or your air returns may be frosted over. If either door was cracked, and I mean as tiny as 1/16 in, it will pull warm air in from the house, mix with cold air in the fridge, and make condensation, which then freezes in the air passages between the units. SORRY for the run on sentence. You need to pull the back wall off the freezer and see whats going on. You want to see this ![]() If you see something like this then your running out of freon. ![]() If you see something that resembles this its a defrost problem.

I think you caught it early. Looks like a defrost issue. How long ago did you replace the elec control? Could be bad again. Take a pic of it if you can. The new one looks nothing like the old one

It was a beach gettin that cover off. Someone decided to make it tricky, couldn't see what was holding it but here's what I replaced before if memory serves me.

Fuse I'm sorry I hung out as long as I could
If it looks like this one, its the old style. you can stick a flat head screwdriver between pins L1 and test. That jumps it into defrost. If this is yours try it and see what happens. I'll guess it may make a click and go right on doing what it do. Fans running and all. ![]() If it looks like this one DON"T JUMP IT. take the t-stat handle and turn it off and then on 3 times top initiate defrost. I have not seen one of these go bad ![]()

It's the old one. You were right, I crossed with a screwdriver and nothing . Not even a click. Well I defrosted it and threw it back together to get it goin till I can get the part. I thought that would have it working for a day at least or untill it would clog up with ice again but the frig side still not getting cold. Why is that?

Funny story. I had to go work on this older couples fridge. Their water filter cracked and leaked all over the floor. Half of the filter cartridge was stuck in the housing and I couldn't get it out. So I ordered parts and fixed it. In the mean time though, they were having to get their floor fixed from the water damage. They had to uninstall the fridge and then reinstall it when the floor was done. And wouldn't you know it there was no water or ice when it was hooked back up. So I go out to see whats going on. When it was pushed back in the hole, someone hit the childlock button. So no water or ice dispenser. The old guy laughed it off and started off to get his checkbook to pay me my service fee. I told him not to worry about it. Because he had a Romney sticker on his car. But that if it had been a Obama sticker I sure as heck would have collected my 60 bucks. They thought it was funnier than hell
