I have this rifle and do not know anything about it. What year is it, cal, and how much is it worth?

Model 95 military carbine, probably 8mm x 50, 56, or 57, with straight pull bolt action. Bubba shortened the forearm. I'd put the value at less then $150, maybe $100 or so. Have a gunsmith check the calibre, headspace, and general condition before firing--these guns came in several 8mm varieties.

If it's marked "M 95 M" then it's most likely a Yugoslavian modified and rebarreled M95 rechambered for 8mm Mauser ammunition. These rifles were reworked in the early 1930's, using WWI vintage M95 Syers left over from WWI. Yugoslavian modified M95M rifles have a sheet metal insert in the magazine so it will feed 8mm Mauser (but this part is often missing). The M95M also has a modified bolt head with a new extractor. I'd get the headspace checked before shooting it. And then use mild commercial ammo. One common problem of the M95M is broken extractors. The rifles should only feed from the magazine and not by placing a round directly in the chamber.

I think the M95M is worth a little more than the average M95. But, as noted, it's been cut down and that takes a big bight out of the collector market.

i have 2 m95's first one was a buba sporter.. it was in the odd 8x50r and DID have a broke extractor. i got a gunsmith to cheambercast it to check caliber and install another extractor.

I have a nother on e in 8x56r etc.

interesting that they came in 8mm mauser variety too.

wouldn't mind having one of those.

my 8x50r buba gun was a 50$ gun at a higher end gun store that new it was lowered in value due to the damage and sporterization..
