Can the rifles in a shotgun barrel wear out and if they can how can you tell.

Yes rifling can wear out. You can measure the groves to determine the wear.

jim,a rifled shotgun is supposed to be shot using sabot rounds,these are plastic cups around the projectile.i think before plastic would wear out a steel barrel it would be a new milliena. old semperfi

You can get lead or plastic build up on the rifleing. Than can be cleaned up. Wearring out the rifleing is not likely to happen. If groups are not good , just needs a cleaning.
