Was considering adding some minutes to the cell phone I hardly ever use when a funny thought occurred; Do all those Obama phones go dead the moment he loses, or on the day Romney's sworn in? Just wonderin'.

I'd be guessing those phones will be working for a long time. Seems it's hard to stop programs once they get started. But, maybe they won't get semiannual upgrades.

On the other hand, they may go dead quick if he loses - like in 2 weeks.

Point of my post is that stopping existing programs is not easy. And, if Romney wins, I doubt a huge priority would be to immediately stop a program being funded by our phone bills.

On a serious note, the phones being offered by various providers to poverty level families in this area can be life savers - particularly come winter for the disabled and house bound. My one real objection to them, and the reason I was chuckling thinking about all those Obbie phones conking out at the same time, is that folks like the woman singing the praises of her "Obama phone" don't need them. What'd she do before her Obama phone fell out of the sky - communicate by smoke signals or drums?
