As I was walking up to the front door, I heard a young woman behind me trying to speak through tears about someone who had been involved in an accident and died the previous night. I pit it aside and went into the sunday school classroom as usual. While talking to the pastor, another man came and got his attention. This was a man who led some of the evening youth services. He started by saying that he was developing the habit in his prayer life of sitting quietly before the Lord and listening for a period of 10 minutes. Earlier in the week, while doing that he had a clear message. That a young woman would come to the Wed. youth service wearing a denim jacket, and he really needed to speak to her. Sure enough, as he was preparing to start the lesson, a young woman arrived wearing a denim jacket. The only one in the group. He told her that she would be the star of the show, and went on with his message, and talked with her individually afterwards. The following evening, this young lady and several of the others from the youth class were prompted to have a conference call with the youth pastor.
Two nights later, the unthinkable happens and this young woman is killed in a car accident. Seems to me, the Lord knew what was coming and wanted to make sure this girl was ready to go to him. Pray for all those who are involved in this, all the family and friends, and for the youth ogf the church, some are having a lot of difficulty dealing with this, and some are not yet fully committed. Pray that this would have the effect that I think was intended, and that many would see the frailty and shortness of life and come to believe in the God of the eternal, and his son who makes eternal life possible for us. The passage going through my head is...unless a grain of wheat falls to the earth and dies, it remains a single grain of wheat, but if it dies, it gives life to many.

Things like this are simply beyond any possibility of coincidence, and should bolster the faith of everyone that hears them. God does, indeed, love us so much that he is not willing that any should perish. Opportunity may knock only once, but God keeps banging and banging on our door virtually BESEECHING us to turn to him while there is yet time.
Lord, I come to You this morning with a request about this incident. I believe, Father, that you brought this young woman into your fold while there was yet time, and I thank You for that, Father. I ask, Lord, that you would be with her family, her friends, and all the adults and youth of this congregation that knew her. I ask that You would uplift each one, and give them assurance that You are in charge of this, and that this young woman is with You right now. I ask that each one would be drawn even closer to you due to the circumstances of this event that the world sees as a tragedy. And I ask these things in the name of Jesus, the Christ, the author and finisher of our faith. Amen -
