What ever mounts you use they must be high, very high. The stock of the AR is straight back from the receiver and regular height mounts makes the scope very uncomfortable to use.
To determine how high, mount the gun on your shoulder as you would to shoot. Get a good face weld on the stock and have someone put a ruler on the top of the receiver rail to see how high your eye is above that rail by sighting from the front of the gun (obviously unloaded gun with the bolt locked open, for safety).
