Default US Revolver Co. DOB

Got this from a guy at work about 2 years ago. He thought it was broken, as the cylinder rotates freely. But I guess it's suppose to until you start pulling the trigger.

I've done a little research on this, and my main question is the DOB? Just researching this Forum, I've come up with 1913-14? The serial # is 448xx (taken from the frame under the grip). Seems to be in good working order, but I doubt I'll ever fire it. Came across the older box of ammo in a gun shop for $20. Ammo dates to 1921.
