Default Christmas bonus

Anybody here get a Christmas bonus? We all got ours todayThe company I work for announced that there will bo NO MORE overtime. I work every other weekend covering a route for one of our other guys. Now they are saying the week before I am to work the weekend that I will now work 6 hours a day for that week and then get my other 10 hours on the weekend. My own route usually takes 8 to 9 hours a day to get through. I hope they can explain to me how I am supposed to cover the same route now in 6 hours per day. They talk about how saftey is always #1. Take your time and do your job safely but be sure and do it in 1/3 of the time now. Are the big bosses going to take a cut in pay? H*LL NO. This only affects the guys in the field that keep the wells pumping so the big bosses can keep getting their paychecks. The company I used to work for came in and gave all the drivers and rig hands an hourly pay cut and the supervisors took a pay cut in our salary as well. It pissed us all off but at least we knew it affected everybody. We have a meeting Monday with the big bosses so I think I will ask them if they are ready to stand beside the workers and take a pay cut with us.

Sorry to hear that Stingray. That is one reason I like being in sales because I tote my bottom line. The more I sale, the more I make and they make more too. I will never be hourly,,, EVER because of that. I don't like being held back and my company openly supports me when I want to put in long hours. Also we are blessed to get bonuses every year.

Remember Stingray, at the time at least you have a job. Stay positive and opportunity will come your way.

Christmas bonus, whats that?

Took a 5% pay cut in 2008, and haven't seen a dime since.
It's getting very hard to make ends meet.
If it keeps up, and we go over the fiscal cliff, the tax increase will do me in.

I guess I will have to start working two jobs.

That's a kick in the crotch!

Now that I'm officially retired on SSDI we got 0% the last two years and are getting 1.7% next year.

I've actually heard they might try to cut back on Social Security raises in the future.

I havn't had a bonus since I moved. Believe it or not, the last 2 years of employment at my job on the coast, I got a $1000 bonus each year. Before that it was under the old owner and it was about $400 but he also gave out a prize to each employee. Draw a number pick an envelope deal. Prizes went from $200, a day off fishing with the boss, weekend in San Fran, a week stay at a time share anywhere we wanted and a few others mixed in. And this was all on top of a killer Christmas party usually catered. I had great bosses.

Moved for a bunch of reasons, and the guy I went to work for, didn't even throw a Christmas anything. Next boss, at least we got a dinner. No bonus though. Think we are getting a Christmas party this year. Splurging and taking us to Red Lobster.

It would be just my luck to win the day off fishing with the boss.
No way..... I would want that one.

bonuses are above my pay grade. They used to give out yearly bonuses, but about the time I started they quit giving it to us because we were non-essential. We are only required to be here for the plant to run, but we are non essential.....

Supervisors and useless people up the chain still get thier big bonuses. Imagine that.....

On a good year I used to get a bonus that could be 10/15% of my yearly pay. The 1st time I got a bonus this big I almost fell over. Now I feel lucky to have a job.

Isn't that how it goes. It seems that the good things go away just about the time you get hired.

I have never got a Christmas bonus but we hear the NO MORE OVERTIME every few months. The thing is that every time we hear it, we end up getting more overtime.

I hear ya.. for the last 25ys or so I've worked between 2 companies. the first one, I had to take a pay and hour cut a few months ago. the other one, where I have worked at 15 ys , in all that time i got 1 raise and maybee 2 boni.. then in september, they closed.. hired on to a company they subbed for and had to take a 4$ pay cut.. meaning at both co's i'm now working for less than i did when i started with them ...

BUT

glad to have a job....

that's a tough one.

we've seen a few plans like that. trying to break up a 'shift' that is more or less a set run time.

don't work well.

new co. i went to work for in sept tried that for 1 month.. didn't work out at all.. took about 2mo to fish it out so that some of the times line up a lil better.. starting to get smoother now.

hang in there man....

I worked for a company for 10 years and got one every year as well as a profit-sharing bonus. Then, worked for a company for 10 more years and got no bonus or anything (although mgt got a HUGE bonus). Even quit matching 401(k). Left there and now, I get a small bonus but better than nothing.

My bonus is working while no one else has too.

It ends up being myself and the 3 School maintenance guys working from Dec 26 to 28th.
