pretty much what happened here with nationalised medicine
60% of all jobs became part time so most did not have any coverage but what they paid for so the scheme went broke in 2 years and they brought in co payments my co payment to get my teeth fixed is $3000 and i'm a veteran and why i have a mouth full of busted teeth still , oh and the waiting times for services , because of health staff cuts the wait to get treatment through medicare here quadrupled and then did so again, its common for folks to die of very preventable things here while they wait for treatment there is no such thing as a free ANYTHING FOLKS... |

As the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink!

Re-elect OBama, then look to England to see what health care will look like. Worse than slow, limited healthcare is the utter stagnation of development. The reason Capitalism can work with healthcare is you have people working in the same direction, even if it's for differing purposes. You might just want to cure cancer. You might not care about making a dime off it. You can't do that in your garage. You need a laboratory, equipment and time. Something a corporation can provide you. Yes, they want to make money off the cure. But guess what? They want the cure for money, you want the cure for posterity....bottom line? The cure is found. National healthcare freezes the status-quo right where it is today. No progress, just treading water. Socialism/Communism doesn't raise standards for all, it equalizes them at a lower level for all.
