what all you got on the back of that well equipped truck? it sure looks pretty good.

do NOT run E85 even though it is rated for it.

the only 3 problems I have seen with those trucks are the front wheel bearings (SKF has an upgrade), the rear disc brakes (stupid to have them) and the exhaust manifold bolts (they break, I suggest replacing them every 40-50K miles)

exactly and not a new ford, the new fords are trouble to work on. as far as diesel motors go, i prefer dodge with a cummins motor, damn things last forever, and very powerful

that chevy looks that it has a duramax in it because of the decals on the hood. i could be wrong because that might not be a duramax

Loaded down with just about everything. Dual tanks for solvent and methanol, high pressure pump, and more tools than I will ever need When did they start having front bearing problems? My 07 has 180,000 miles on it and my 06 has 230,000. I just put a new front bearing on the 06 about 2 months ago and the 07 has never been touched.

No Duramax I wish it was. Both of my personel trucks have the Duramax and I love them.

it would seem then that your terrain is not as abusive as ours. or is just you are not as brutal as guys here? a farmer around here can destroy a truck in 2 or 3 years. not the older (73-87) ones though. they still reign as king truck

Some of the roads I drive on are plenty rough. After driving my own truck on these same roads for the past 3 1/2 years I will drive this one like it is my own. Some of the guys here that have company trucks treat them like crap because they do not own them or pay repairs. If this one goes down I will be stuck driving our spare company truck until it comes out of the shop. The spare we have is still a good truck and I drove it for the past 3 months until I got this one but it is a pain switching over even for a few days. You take stuff that you think you will need on the other truck but never have what you need.

sweet! Free gas is awesome.

Rear disc brakes are not really needed or desired unless you have a very well tuned brake balance controller of some sort (more than a mechanical LSPV) but whatever, it's a company truck...

The newer cars and trucks are quite safe though, even if they don't have much clearance or metal on them anymore. She looks clean!

see if your work will put one of these bumpers on it, ARB rocks! keeps your engine running if you smoke a large animal.

They won't put grill guards or anything like that on. I wish they would, one of my personel trucks has a heavy grill guard and my other one has the full bumper replacement on it. I liked it but it was awful heavy on the front end along with the Duramax under the hood. Here is my 06 GMC I was driving before this became a company job 3 months ago. My daughter is driving it now until I get her 57 painted.

I agree with you...nothing better than a Ford to drive into a pothole or canyon at 50mph. If you break it, you're not out anything.

When we first bought our Suburban new in 98 I wanted a big grill guard on it. About a month after we got it I hit a pheasant and took out the grill. 500.00 for a plastic replacement.
