Default We've been bamboozled...!.

So said a resident of Chicago Heights following Jesse Jackson Jr.'s reelection, and his subsequent statement that he's in plea negotiations with the US attorney regarding - what else - misappropriated campaign funds. The net result will probably involve some jail time. Well golly, I'm shocked, SHOCKED!, to borrow Claude Rains' classic line to Bogart in Casablanca. Wonder who they'll tap to run in a special election to replace him; Jesse Sr., Al Sharpton, maybe Marion Barry? Of course there's them pesky residency requirements, but they didn't stop Rahm Emanuel from running for Mayor of Chicago. But what the heck, it's just business as usual Chicago-style.

That's the way it works in these neighborhoods. He is under Fed indictment and hasn't showed up for work in 4 months and gets reelected.
