Default Texas People Are you ok?

Just wondering how the people on the forum that live in Texas are doing due to the tornado's that went through their areas.

I heard through the grapevine that Woolleyworm's house got a lot of damage and will need extensive repairs.

Please say a prayer for our friends from Texas.

I called Josh yesterday to ask and he said they (the tornados) went by him on both sides but he had no damage and his family and him are ok.

Nothing here. My target stand is a sail, and it was still standing when I go home, 1" of rain, but no wind damage here at all. The power had gone out for a while, but was back on when we got home. Lots of damage in Waskom, about 10 miles north of me, and quiet a bit of damage on the West side of Shreveport, LA. It looks like all the damage was around I-20 from West to East, and North of I-20. I'm about 10 South of I-20, as the crow flies. I was in Shreveport yesterday as the storm moved thru, sitting in the parking lot of a local hospital, for wife's dr. appointment. It rained hard, but no wind. I had no clue that there was a major storm going on!

Ok here. That was 200 miles north of us. Our multi-year drought is getting worse.

Everyone is ok here, not a scratch. Thank-you to all those concerned and the prayers sent. Dogs and Muscles the ball-python are doing fine also. We'll be relocated for awhile, they said 2-4 months most likely. 95% of the damages are insured and the other stuff isn't too important in the grand scheme of things. We'll pull through this just fine; all the neighbors pitched in to remove trees and start cleaning up the mess. A couple pics of the outside are below. We had winds of 166mph, too dark to really show anything inside with all the power out. They're saying another 4-5 days at least without power. The biggest damage is what the water leaks did to the insulation, it's soaked and the interior drywall is most likely a 100% loss. We're working on getting everything out and sent off to storage.

( please ignore the lack of yardwork done, been way too many 70+ hr weeks for me to give a rats behind about a lil grass lately )

What he said! What lacking yard work? The rain made the grass grow and right now that is the least of your problems. Glad you and your family are ok along with the snake and the dogs.

Beck and I were very fortunate. The 2 storm systems that bore the big tornadoes passed just north and south of us only soaking us with torrential rainfall, something like 6 inches in about 30 minutes. The one that passed to the south ripped thru the south side of Granbury as an F4 on its way toward Cleburne where it hit Lakeshore Dr. and Country Club Rd over in the Worms neighborhood as a strong F3.

Chris, if yall need anything don't hesitate to let us know. even if it is just a relaxing day at the range and a cold beer. Mi casa es su casa.

Wow, I hadn't heard about those tornadoes. Glad everyone's OK and it's a good thing Woolyworm's house is made of brick. Looks like it escaped any real serious damage.

We just got lots of rain and lightning with some small hail. Got friends in Granbury that came through okay, but haven't heard from a friend in Cleburne yet.

Thanks Josh, I could certainly use a little stress relief after this week.

They've told us to be prepared for up to 4 months before we can move back in. the interior is going to be the most time consuming of repairs. I am hoping they can have the drywall & Roofing & windows done within a couple months.

Its an open Invite Chris. If yall feel like you want to get out of the hotel awhile yall are welcome to camp out at the range. Theres power, running water, a toilet, shower, and a beer fridge on the patio. I aint mowed the grass in a couple months so it would be like camping in the woods. I don't remember if you got a camper or not, but if you do, youre welcome to camp out til they get your house done. Thatll save your wallet from the hotel at least.

the adjuster was out yesterday from the insurance company and today the contractors are in putting their bid in for the work. I am just thankful that there is something left to rebuild, the folks in Oklahoma are getting it much much worse.

Pray for the folks in OK. They just had an F5 wipe across the middle of the state. News crews are showing areal footage and theres absolutely nothing but piles of rubble. They got it way worse than we did.

When you say "They just had an F5," is that another one, or one from earlier?
