There's a weird story currently on Drudge Report about a White House petition requesting citizens who'd signed the secession petitions to be stripped of citizenship and deported. They're looking for signatures, and have apparently gotten about 2200 so far. The Drudge story is center column about halfway down, and begins with the word WAR! in caps. I'm sure (I think) it's just b.s., but it'd seem to be an indication of how deep the divide is in this nation.

It was minus 31 last night here, I know that ain't even cold yet, but I can't wait until end of December, soon after the days will start getting longer.

I haven't heard anything much about it over here, so maybe it is some sort of US hype.

The only major danger I can think of is falling off the financial cliff.

Seems like a lot of people are jumping ship. Whether the 8000 emigrants are conservatives bailing is not explained in the article.

You guys don't seem to understand. The Mayans didn't consider or even hear of "leap year" which means the date they indicate on their calendar doesn't match ours. In reality, if you do the math they actually predicted the end of the world to be November 6th, 2012.

So they were correct all along.

but 12/21 is my wedding anniversary so we'll be having a blast while the weirdos do whatever weirdos do when they think the world is ending on a particular day.

I'm thinking a really nice dinner and some good wine. Weirdos will be in their bunkers or spending all their money, cool with me!
