HAPPY THANKSGIVING all you turkeys, so what's for dinner? Plans? Travel?

Well today is our 31st anniversary, tomorrow Thanksgiving....and my wife's working Sun-Tue-Wed-Thur this week then 11 days vacation.

I'm having a Footballpalooza Thursday, woo-hoo, cigars and football.

We're having T-day Saturday with a 16# bird, ummmmm, turkey.

We are gonna stay at home and have turkey and chicken dressing. Sweet tater cassorole, plus melonton shrimp dressing. Pumpkin bread, bread pudding, and all the other trimmings that go with the turkey dinner. Ummmmmmmmmm, can hardly wait.
Guess I will have to make a picture of the spread. We will probably eat about 1 ish.
Ya'll have a happy Thanksgiving.

MJP, and everybody, Happy Thanksgiving. Kids didn't even come home from school, daughter flew from school in Texas to Inlaws back in Pittsburgh. Boy didn't fly home, afraid he'd get weathered in here for a week but I know he's just layin up with his girlfriend at school. Wife is hard at it now, we cook bird all night in wood cook stove. I was even rippin up bread with her earlier. We also go out to the village with the Indians over holiday. Hope I can get the wifey to ride snowmachine some too.

Hey MJP, them Brownies gonna be good in a couple years, it's all going to pay off for yu folks at the mistake by the lake.

Going to some friends of my step daughter---country place here in the Hill Country. Some friends just opened a Popeyes Chicken here and I got a smoked Cajun turkey. Just thaw and heat. Others are frying a couple of turkeys. Wife just cooked 2 pumpkin pies, an apple pie, a cherry pie, and my favorite pecan pie. Tomorrow she'll get the dressing and green bean casserole.

Travel about 30 miles to my stepson's house for Thanksgiving. That is of course, if I don't see a big old buck in the pasture this morning! They can have the turkey, all I want is the ham! Isn't it amazing how much good meat comes from a pig!

About to make Atomic Buffalo Turds, Smoked Scotch Eggs and Fatties for the smoker. Going to smoke a turkey breast, too.

So far for Thanksgiving dinner, we are having ABT, SSE and Fatties for appetizers. Then, smoked turkey breast, whipped potatoes, stuffing, corn bread muffins, green beans and cranberry mold for dinner with pumpkin pie for dessert.

Then, playing PS3 with the boys, watching TV and checking messages on the internerd. That's it.

We did early turkey day this past Sunday since Thanksgiving is always a busy day for me. As a Christmas tree grower I have retail lots to get setup today and ready to open on black Friday.

Always show thanks for what I have built and the good Lord has given me, but this year I'm just nervous about sales. A competitor moved in across the street a couple seasons ago and the way his signage looks it looks like he is going to try and undercut the market big time.

I've built a good rep over the years and have a strong repeat customer base, just hope they will stick with me.

I ate a crappy cold ham at work and I'll go home at 7:30 or so and eat left overs......

My wife went to her parents yesterday and will come back friday night. I'm going to hunt for a couple hours in the morning and make a day trip over to my grandparents. Today is my papaw's 80th birthday.

Some one just sent me this. I thought it was funny....

Had to del it. Had a swear word in it. What it said was

Shot my 1st turkey today.
Scared the crap out of everyone in the frozen food section.
It was awesome.

Not as funny without the background.

I remember for about 20 years straight I used to go to a 4 day bluegrass festival every thanksgiving down in Dade City Fl at a place called Sertoma Youth Ranch. The music started on thursday afternoon and went thru till sunday afternoon and the ranch would cook around 30-40 turkeys and everyone would bring a covered dish and a bunch of deserts and between the smell of the food and the campfires and the music, it was almost magical and probably some of the best years of my life. We would hardly sleep at all and pick music all night around the campfires. When you got tired of one pickin session, you wandered to the next campfire and listened in or joined in there. Some great fellowship, great friends, great music and great memories were made. I stopped going some years back and every year I think back on the good times and I know it still goes on every year and I think I need to go back and pay another visit. Happy Thanksgiving all.

Made a turkey - wife and I didn't eat too much since we were home alone. I have to leave at the crack of dawn and drive 10-11 hours to Portland, Or. to load my daughter and her fiancee's belongings and bring it all back here to Idaho - so leave the next morning at the crack of dawn and head back. Have to move her out of Oregon so she can recuperate from having fallen from a 3rd floor balcony.........
