Default Case Bowie Knife

Picked up a presentation Case Bowie Knife this past weekend in Virginia, for $100. Features a black synthetic handle with brass guard and mirror-polished blade with Case logo etching. Includes leather sheath. 9 1/2"" blade, 14 1/4"" overall length. The dealer gave me a choice between the brown, or black holster. I went with the black.

I just like a well made Bowie, the do it all knife. Not much into folders, unless the guy selling the knife doesn't know what he has! The last one I bought I paid $200 for it, and have been offered $800. I still have it.

Ya, the folders I have/like are BIG ones.....
not the whittling, fingernail cleaning kind...
some even larger than the straight knives.
A well-made Bowie is just an awesome must have.

Edwin Forrest Bowie......supposedly 'the original'

Said to have been presented to the famous actor Edwin Forrest by James Bowie. It is reputed to be the knife Bowie used on the Vidalia Sandbar.

Carver this is my Case XX Bowie, It was my Dads, Not sure of the year he purchased it. Well over 60 years ago. My Granddad made the sheath. I had to replace the flat leather piece, one of my Gordon Setters got bored..

It is razor sharp. Got my first pig with it, dogs had it pinned in a creek bed and I stuck it. 130# Sow.
