Default Ron Paul “Secession is a deeply American principle"

“If the possibility of secession is completely off the table there is nothing to stop the federal government from continuing to encroach on our liberties and no recourse for those who are sick and tired of it.”

Ron Paul has his following of which I'm not one but how do you argue with his point.

"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation"

Sound familiar?

Wrong Mr. Paul, there is recourse, it's called 'Revolution'.

"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, envinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

"to throw off such government" is the key to this, it essentially states that when the people have tried and been thwarted in their attempts to legitimately change their leaders way of thinking, they MUST ("it is their duty") revolt.

This passage is one of the essential ones in our Declaration of Independence, any one can claim equal rights, we back it up with our stated right to use force if neccessary to maintain those rights.

This is why the 2nd Amendment holds the numerical place it does, without "it" the force of the First is devoid of any real power.

Really, I would have expected better of Ron Paul.
